David James Elliott brings JAG to NCIS: LA
March 29th, 2019 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

Long before there was NCIS, NCIS: LA and NCIS: NoLa, there was JAG, the show they spun off of. On May 12th, Los Angeles will get a little taste of JAG. That is because David James Elliott will reprise his role as Harmon Rabb for a few episodes.

According to CBS, the first episode he appears in is about, “The NCIS team uncovers ISIS sympathizers who look to be planning an attack on US aircraft carriers. The terror threat will result in Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Sam (LL COOL J) working directly with Rabb, the XO Captain on the USS Intrepid.”

I wonder if this is CBS’s way of saying that if these episodes do well, then they will bring back JAG?

Did you know that JAG started out on NBC, got cancelled and was saved by CBS? I wonder if NBC kicks themselves whenever they hear that NCIS is the #1 show? I am sure they do.

Happy sweet 16 to NCIS!
April 13th, 2018 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced today that NCIS and Mark Harmon will be back for season 16. Is the news a surprise? Of course not, it is still the most-watched drama in the overnights. It even beats This Is Us and The Good Doctor and it has been on so long it is a bratty teenager. While their cases are about dead people, this show is far from being a corpse.

NCIS joins SEAL Team, SWAT, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Mom and Murphy Brown on CBS’s 2018-2019 lineup.

Pauley Perrette is leaving NCIS
October 4th, 2017 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

Pauley Perrette took to social media today to announce that she will be leaving NCIS this season. After 15+ years of playing Abby on the #1 drama, she decided last year that it is time to move on. She did not say what she will be doing next, but she wanted to let us know she is not starting a skin care line. Will she will follow in Michael Weatherly’s footsteps and get her own show on The Eye? We are months away from finding that out.

With her departure, that means that Mark Harmon, Sean Murray and David McCullum are the only actors left on the show since the first season.

Are you going to miss Abby?

UPDATE: NCIS released this statement about her upcoming departure.

Jennifer Esposito is one and done at NCIS
June 10th, 2017 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

When Michael Weatherly left NCIS for Bull, they replaced him with three actors. Yesterday, it was revealed that one of those three would not be back for another season. Deadline is reporting that Jennifer Esposito, who played Agent Alexandra Quinn, is not returning because the show is going in a “new creative direction next season.” What that is, we will find out in September.

The actress took to Twitter with this message about her departure and said, “No i am not ill 😁but I so appreciate your concern. Was not meant to be there long but happy I was. Met some great new friends! Love 2u all.” She suffers from Celiac Disease, so it is good to hear she is not having a bad flare up.

When it comes to her leaving, I don’t know why but I just do not like the characters she plays. Mostly because she plays them all the same way every time. Are you going to miss her?

NCIS won’t be going anywhere for at least two more years
February 29th, 2016 under CBS, NCIS. [ Comments: none ]

NCIS is in its 13th season and it is still the #1 drama and #1 scripted show on television in America and the world. So what I am about to tell you, should not surprise you. CBS picked it up for two more seasons today. As soon as the show’s lead Mark Harmon signed on the dotted line, so did they. Which you can’t blame them, can you?
What about the show’s two spinoffs NCIS: LA and NCIS: NoLA? We don’t know yet, but I am sure at least one if not both will be back.
