Tonight at 10p on CBS, Limitless goes from the big screen to the small one.
Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) is approaching 30 and he hasn’t done much with his life. He is in a band and everyone but him has given up on it. Things have gotten so bad that he takes a job as a temp and finds out his former best friend and bandmate works there. The two of them catch up over coffee and Eli gives his buddy an NZT pill. The pill gives him the ability to access everything in his brain. His two week temp job is completed in 2 hours.
Now with all that extra brain power to spare, he decides to use to it to find out what is ailing his dad. He figures it out, but his parents think he is crazy until his diagnosis proves true. Only problem is that they discover his dad needs a liver transplant, but he probably won’t get one in time.
Brian decides to ask Eli for another pill, so that maybe he can find another way to cure his dad. When he gets to his friend’s apartment, he discover his buddy’s dead body on the floor and he has been shot. Just as he is trying to figure out what to do the police knock on the door looking for Eli.
Brian is on the run and FBI Agent Rebecca Harris (Jennifer Carpenter) is on his tail. He tells her that he is innocent but she doesn’t believe him until he proves it. Now the two of them are trying to figure out who killed Eli.
Meanwhile, Brian is visited by Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper), who is now a Senator, who says he is willing to supply him with the NZT for the rest of his life because unlike other test subjects, he doesn’t suffer from the fatal side effect. Only thing is that he can’t tell anyone about their meeting.
Back to Agent Harris, she thinks that Brian would make a great consultant for the agency and convinces her boss to put him in a safe house.
And now you have he premise for the series, the two of them will work together to solve some of the toughest crimes each week.
If you are tuning in for Cooper, you will be greatly disappointed because he is only on the show for a few minutes. But there is more to the show than just him.
When I heard that the show was picked up for the fall, I was like why, the movie was completely forgettable. In fact, the first time I watched the pilot, I was bored. Then I rewatched it and I quite enjoyed it. So I suggest giving it a chance because it has potential. How much? We will just have to tune in each week to find out.

Before we get to Limitless, there are two NCISes that air before it. At 8p, NCIS picks up with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) being rushed into surgery after being shot. Dr Taft (Jon Cryer) is doing everything in his power to save the agent, but the second bullet exploded his chest and it caused a lot of damage. As the doctor works to save his patient, DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) is instructed to find the kid that shot his boss. By the end of the episode, Gibbs fate will be decided and DiNozzo will get his man. Which man that is, you will have to tune in to find out.
Cryer is a great addition to the cast, it is like he was born to play a surgeon.

Then at 9p, NCIS: New Orleans is back for its second season and it starts off with a bang. As in someone blows up a military convoy on the bridge. Now Pride (Scott Bakula), LaSalle (Lucas Black), Brody (Zoe McLellan) and Plame (Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell) have to figure out who did it. What they discover, is that it is a militia super group and this bombing was only the beginning. Will they be able to find out them before it is too late?
If you are like me, then you are still missing Quantum Leap. We are not going to get the show back with new episodes, but we are getting the next big thing. That’s because we are going to see Sam and Al together again on NCIS: New Orleans.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Dean Stockwell will guest star on the season’s biggest new show sometime next month. EW says he “will play Tom Hamilton, a proud and spirited retired New Orleans cop who still has his wits about him. When confronted by investigators about a murder 40 years ago, he arrogantly pushes back using his knowledge and experience. Tom Hamilton is also the father of Councilman Douglas Hamilton (recurring guest star Steven Weber).”
Sounds like his character could be back working with Scott Bakula again at some point during the show’s run, which is perfectly fine with me. Quantum Leap wasn’t only great because of the storylines, it was also great because of the chemistry between the two actors. Something I can’t wait to see when the two of them share the small screen together again after 21 years.
How excited are you for this TV reunion?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sgJIKii5wQ NCIS: New Orleans makes its standalone premiere on CBS tonight at 9p and it is something to be jazzed about.
A partial leg is found by the docks and now the NCIS team is called in to investigate it. When Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) is told that a Navy Seal has gone missing, he begins to think the two are connected. He thinks it’s a friend of his who he helped get out of the gangs and go good. So what happened to him? That is what they are going to find out.
We almost didn’t find this out because the show was not supposed to be a spinoff. Executive Producer Gary Glassberg told us at the CBS TCA Summer Press Day that he was talking to NCIS’ Mark Harmon about some sweeps ideas, and going to New Orleans was pitched. Harmon told him, “Gary, those aren’t the sweeps episodes. That’s a series.” Just over a year later, NCIS: NoLa is airing as its own show every Tuesday at 9p. When Hollywood sees something great, they move on it. A decision that has proven to be smart move on CBS’s part.
NCIS’s Michael Weatherly Tweeted this photo of himself with NCIS: New Orleans’ Scott Bakula in hazard suits and I wonder what they’re saying about their Tuesday night pairing? That we are going to need to protection now that TV’s #1 show is paired with its very hot spinoff. I guess so!
So suit up because we are going to need to be prepared for all the Fat Tuesdays coming up, starting September 23rd on CBS!
As we all know Cote de Pablo is leaving NCIS and that means that DiNozzo will be without his Ziva. So who will be his new partner? Looks like we might have that answer because CBS released this video of Michael Weatherly rehearsing with someone called the Eye Guy. So what do you think of his new partner?
Of course that is not the new Ziva, but you can watch the countdown until her goodbye starting on September 24th when NCIS returns with all new episodes.
