Is NBC working on an ALF reboot?
August 13th, 2015 under NBC, Revivals-Reboots. [ Comments: none ]

Today, at the NBC TCA Summer Press Day, NBC’s Chairman Robert Greenblatt was asked how the Coach reboot came about. When he was done, he said, “And if that works, then ALF the series is next.” That news is the only reason why I want Coach to succeed.
Since ALF was unceremoniously cancelled, it ended with a cliffhanger and we never found out what Gordon Shumway decided to do. I would love to see the reboot continue and find out what the Alien Life Form did. My dream idea would be that ALF left on the spaceship to escape the military, but after giving it some thought he decides to return to Earth. He doesn’t realize how much time has passed and when he finally meets up with Brian, he’s shocked to find out his best friend is now older, married and a father. Brian has moved on since his friend deserted him and isn’t sure if he wants anything to do with his old pal.
I think it would be a hit, so why wait to find out how Coach does and greenlight the ALF reboot.

The Celebrity Apprentice is taking a sabbatical

As we all know Donald Trump is running for President and because of that NBC and him parted ways. That means The Celebrity Apprentice is left without a host.
Today at the NBC TCA Summer Press Day, I was kind of expecting them to name who would be replacing The Donald, but that was not the news we got. NBC’s Chairman Robert Greenblatt instead said that they were giving the reality competition show a year off. He elaborated, “We’ve actually been overwhelmed by a number of really exciting people who have come forward and are interested in taking over the show.” When it comes to the rumored names like Magic Johnson and George Lopez, he says some are true, some are not. One thing he wanted to make clear today, is that there is absolutely no way that Trump will be back on the show even after he ends his campaign for President.
When they finally settle on the new head of the boardroom, he promises to let us know. Then he added, when it happens it will probably be big news. Which really makes me wonder who are some of the names that threw their names into the hat.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the announcement and for the show to come back. Even though Trump thinks the show was about him, it wasn’t. It was about the celebrities competing on the show. Anyone could’ve sat in that seat and the show would’ve just done as well.

UPDATE: Donald Trump took to Twitter and claimed that NBC did not say to him, “You’re Fired!” He Tweeted, “People don’t understand that I left The Apprentice to run for Pres—the Apprentice DID NOT leave me. Bob Greenblatt & folks @NBC were GREAT!” While this year might have been mutually agreed upon because of his candidacy, the future seasons were probably not.

Mr Robinson is something to sing about!
August 5th, 2015 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Mr Robinson is a new comedy with Craig Robinson that debuts at 9 and 9:30p on NBC tonight, and this is a show that makes you laugh.
Before Craig Robinson became an actor he was a music teacher, so he has lived this role. That aspect of the show makes it lot more interesting to watch. But it is more than just that.
Robinson and his brother Ben (Brandon T. Jackson) are in a band called Nasty Delicious. They plays bars and that is about it. One day, when they are performing, Craig sees an old flame, who is now a teacher at their old high school. He decides he wants to win her back, so he takes a job as a substitute music teacher there. The kids and him get along so well, he is offered a full time job.
Now he is juggling his music career, his new job as a teacher and trying to get his high school lover back. Which is going to be hard because she has a serious boyfriend. But that is just an obstacle. Right?
The show isn’t only about him. Peri Gilpin plays the school’s principal and she steals every scene she is in. In the second episode tonight, she is reunited with a ex-boyfriend who is a rocker and their relationship is cray cray!
Mr Robinson has an old school feel, and for people like me who love sitcoms like that, you are going to adore this show.

Take another pleasurable trip to Welcome to Sweden
July 19th, 2015 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

https://youtu.be/GZQr7cQ77ek
Welcome to Sweden is back to on NBC tonight at 8p and it is unlike anything else that airs on American television. Mostly because it is filmed in Sweden and because of that, this show is as beautiful to watch as it is enjoyable.
Even though Bruce (Greg Poehler) has been living in Sweden for 6 months now, he is still adjusting to his new country. He still hasn’t found job and that is making things complicated for him. Even though he’s still unemployed that isn’t stopping him from thinking of asking his girlfriend Josephine to marry him. Before he pops the questions, he is going to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. When he does, he finds out that Sweden has a much different view of marriage than they do in The States. Now he has to decide if he is still going to propose to her.
To make matters worse for Jo and him, they are going to get a new roommate. How will that effect their relationship?
In an upcoming episode, Amy Poehler gets Bruce a job. He will be “The Man” in Sweden for Jason Priestley who only is interested in one thing and touring Sweden isn’t it.
Welcome to Sweden is a refreshing comedy, but it is also an educational one. You get to learn about Sweden and the Swedish, their customs, their language and so much more. Wait until you learn how they say yes. I know I can’t stop using it.
So tune in for a comedy that is as sweet as Swedish Fish, tonight and every Sunday at 8p on NBC!

NBC uses Donald Trump’s catchphrase on him!
June 29th, 2015 under Donald Trump, NBC. [ Comments: 2 ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75SEy1qu71I
We know that Donald Trump loves saying, “You’re fired” on NBC, and now NBC said those two words to him.
Over 217,000 people signed a petition at Change.org asking NBC to fire Donald Trump and his shows over the recent comments he made during the speech announcing that he is running for President, and the Peacock network heard their uproar.
NBC release a statement today saying that:

At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.
Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.
To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC.
In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in “The Apprentice” on NBC.

NBC added that Celebrity Apprentice will continue on with Mark Burnett’s production company, but they did not say who will replace Trump in the boardroom. As long as the show’s continues on, I am OK with their decision. Heck, Celebrity Apprentice will most likely be a better show without him.
I bet Donald Trump never saw this coming, through his combover, when he announced that he was running for President.
