Will Arnett, who was the voice of KITT for the upcoming Knight Rider movie was forced to drop out of the movie because he has been voicing commercials for General Motors for the last 10 years according to Variety. KITT is a Ford Mustang and Ford is helping to promote/market the NBC TV Movie, so obviously when GM, Ford's competitor, heard about this they would not let his voice be heard in the movie. Will Arnett said,
"I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of KITT in the new 'Knight Rider' movie," Arnett said. "However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project."
Sadly his part had already been completed and NBC has been scambling to fill his wheels, I mean shoes. Today they announced that Val Kilmer is the new voice of KITT. Luckily we only hear KITT and don't see him because then Knight Rider would not be making air on February 17th. But I just wonder how no one realized the conflict when they hired him or at least when he started voicing the movie. I am sure someone lost their job over this.
Now back to Val Kilmer, I think he is great for the role especially since he is built like KITT now…sorry that was bad…
NBC has decided not to pick up the bottom 9 episodes of Journeyman according to The Hollywood Reporter. Journeyman has two more episodes in the can and NBC said they will air them as planned. I am so bummed that this show got cancelled because it was the only new show on NBC I was watching.
The news is really not a surprise because it was reported a few weeks ago that NBC gave them a two episode try to improve their ratings and if they didn't they would be gone. The ratings went down and so is a good show that was on the wrong network in the first place…hint hint sister network Sci Fi.
The good news is Medium is back to its original timeslot on Mondays at 10p, the bad news looks like Journey man is a goner and Heroes' repeats will be replaced by Deal or No Deal.
NBC we Medium will pick up where it left off last season according to The Hollywood Reporter:
"Medium," airing at 10 p.m. Mondays, will find Allison (Emmy winner Patricia Arquette) and her family's world turned upside down after her abilities are publicly exposed. Anjelica Huston is set to appear in six episodes.
All last year I said that NBC made the mistake by not pairing Heroes with Medium, it is a major bummer that NBC pulled the repeats of Heroes for Deal or No Deal. Hopefully the WGA strike will end soon and Medium and Heroes will finally be paired together. BTW for you Chuck fans, NBC replaced their repeats with a reality show called The Baby Borrowers on Feb 18th.
After 13 years and G-d knows how many cast changes, ER turns 300 on NBC tonight at 10p. I can't believe I have seen almost all those 300 episodes and I am still watching. I think it is largely because no matter how many cast changes there are, there is always one hot guy…ie George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Goran Visnjic, John Stamos and Scott Grimes!
Congrats to ER for reaching that monumental episode!
So tune in to ER tonight at 10p and watch as they handle 300 patients in on day on their 300th episode!
Brooke Shields return to TV will take over ER’s slot on February 7th, Lipstick Jungle based on Candice Bushnell’s book will air on Thursdays at 10p. To be honest even though the show also stars Paul Blackthorne and Andrew McCarthy, I was not planning on watching the show until I saw the promo. Now I might just check it out to see how it turns out.
