The Nevermind baby is 25 and he’s recreating his iconic photo!
September 26th, 2016 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

Nevermind is 25 years old and Spencer Elden is just as old. The baby, who is now a quarter of a century old, put on some swimming trunks, went under water and posed just like he did when he was only 4 months old. Although he told The NY Post, he wanted to do it naked, but photographer John Chapple told him no because he thought it would be “weird”. One of the things the photographer said yes to, was paying him the same amount that he made in 1991. A whopping $200!
Why did Elden recreate his infamous photo? He told the paper, “The anniversary means something to me. It’s strange that I did this for five minutes when I was four months old and it became this really iconic image,” adding, “It’s cool but weird to be part of something so important that I don’t even remember.” Something none of us can fathom.
BTW am I the only who feels really old seeing the baby as a grown man?

LL Cool J retires from music
March 14th, 2016 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

When you think of LL Cool J these days, you think of him as the star of NCIS: LA or the host of The Grammys and Lip Sync Battle. Way before all of this, he was a rap star who sang Mama Said Knock You Out and Going Back to Cali in the late ’80s and early ’90s.
I guess he has still been releasing music since then because today he took to Twitter to announce that he is retiring from music. Now I have to ask you, did you know he was still doing music? I know I didn’t. Now, if he retired from acting or hosting, I would think that was a bigger deal.
How are you taking his retirement from music?

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody as told by Ballet, a Boy’s Choir and a string quarter
December 17th, 2015 under Music. [ Comments: none ]

Believe it or not Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is 40 years old, so The Guardian decided to re-imagine the legendary tune with classic styles. They had the song interpreted with a ballet dance routine, a boy’s choir with heavenly voices and a string quartet composed of four women who gave it their all. Not since Wayne’s World has this song, that can unite people, been given the justice it deserves. So sit back and let this version send shivers down your spine.
Anyway the wind blows

Carly Simon says a third of You’re So Vain is about…
November 18th, 2015 under Carly Simon, Music. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since 1972, people have been wondering who Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain is about, and after 43 years she finally named a name. She told People that the second verse is about…Warren Beatty. It has long been rumored that the tune is about him, and now we know a verse is indeed about the former lady killer.
Will she ever name the other two men, she simply told the magazine, “I don’t know if I’ll do it. I never thought I would admit that it was more than one person!”
Many have speculated that the song could also possibly be about another one of her former-lovers, Mick Jagger, but now we have a third name to contend with. Who is it? We might never know. But then again we never thought she would confirm any of the names that the single was written about.
