The New York City Council has allocated $1.5 million in funding to construct a Hip-Hop museum in the Bronx, New York.Spearheaded by City Council member Larry Seabrook, the museum will trace Hip-Hop from its origins in the 1970’s and be used as a forum to educate future generations about Hip-Hop culture."We’re not talking about gangster rap," Councilman Seabrook told The New York Sun. "We’re talking about Hip-Hop."The new museum is part of a community center and housing development project that is being built by the nonprofit Northeast Bronx Redevelopment Corporation. The project is reportedly to consist of several floors of low-to moderate-income housing with a gymnasium, a small theater, a recording studio, and the museum.

Rock starTOM PETTY has been forced out of his home studio – by termites. The FREE FALLIN’ singer has closed down the studio in Malibu, California, after the place became infested by bugs. He explains, "We have termites in the walls. They (pest control experts) just emptied everything out and covered the wall with plastic, and they were going to blast this place with insecticides, "Of course, out of the whole home, the only room to have termites would be the studio."

Hello MySpace Friends..
GlobeTV will be filming a documentary about "Living with War" and the upcoming CSN&Y tour. And we need your help.
What we are looking for:
"People with stories or pictures of being at Woodstock or another concert tour with CSN&Y music that influenced their lives and is now influencing their children’s or friends’ lives because of similar hopes and fears about the war and the state of the country and the planet. Ideally we would try to visualize their earlier experiences with the music, their lives today and catching-up with the group and music on this summer’s tour. Having a relative or friend involved in the Iraq war, for or against or having served or about to serve would be most helpful. We would also be interested in much younger fans inspired by the music and the message more so than they would be by the younger and more contemporary music groups.
We can include those ranting against W and the war. But the richness and humanness of their perspective and story (i.e. Viet vet, parent of an Iraq war vet etc) would make their outrage more effective."
If you fall into any of these catagories.. or would just like for your voice to be heard.. Please contact RustedSister. Please DO NOT reply to this bulletin.. Please email all inquiries and any stories you have to share to:
[email protected]
Those of you that submit your stories and or voices will most likely be interviewed at the show you are attending. If you are not attending any shows this tour.. Other arrangements will be made.
Thank You
~peace~

WILLIE NELSONhas taken his love of gospel to the max – by buying a church. The country legend surprised the congregation at the Methodist church in his hometown of Abbott, Texas on Sunday (02JUL06) when he performed gospel songs and announced his plans to preserve the 107-year-old building.Nelson was joined by his sister BOBBIE and pal LEON RUSSELL. The church closed its doors in May (06) after the congregation merged with another United Methodist Church nearby. But Nelson was determined to bring church-goers back to the old building, explaining during Sunday’s service that he and his sister had been regulars since they were kids.He told the congregation, "Now, you’re all members of the Abbott Methodist Church, and you will be, forever and ever."Nelson’s new church comes days after the country great launched his own satellite radio station, WILLIE’S PLACE. He also owns a biodiesel company, called BioWillie.

Eccentric THE FLAMING LIPS frontman WAYNE COYNE is keen to sell vibrating panties to his fans – so he can activate them from the stage at concerts. The DO YOU REALISE hitmaker has already tested his idea on his wife and members of his record company and he’s convinced the latest thrill underwear coming out of Japan could be a hoot for fun-loving fans. He explains, "At first I did it for a six-minute song. After, everyone was like, ‘Dude, that’s way too long…’ So the next time, I just did quick little spurts. "By the end of the night, you could see a visible thrill in their faces, like, ‘That was a better show for me than for other people.’ "I believe in doing things. That’s the problem with most artists: They just dream and dream and dream. You gotta do stuff."
