Even though it has been 12 years since Melissa Peterman and Reba McEntyre worked together on a weekly basis, the former still needs to take the latter with her wherever she goes. Don’t believe me? Here she is with Reba’s head on a stick in her car. Can you imagine the cop’s reaction when he pulled her over for driving in the carpool lane with that?
When it comes to why the actress has it? It was a prop from an episode they did together. I want to say it was Baby Daddy, but I could be wrong. I still miss that show.
Melissa Peterman shared this photo of her glamorous life while working on the set of her hysterical show, Baby Daddy, and I can’t get over how much she looks like white trash. As in she is pale standing next to a dumpster. What did you think I meant?
Seriously, this picture captures the essence of who she is, she is funny and will go the distance to make us laugh! She succeeds every time.
Before Melissa Peterman was hosting Dancing Fools, she was signing people in for a fool on Just Shoot Me. She looks the same now as she did when she was 29 in that 2000 episode.
Tonight is sadly the season finale of Baby Daddy on ABC Family at 8:30p, but thankfully it will be back with new episodes soon. A few weeks ago I spoke to one of my favorite funny ladies Melissa Peterman, who plays the mother of the Baby Daddy and we talked about the show. She told me, “I am so proud of what we did in 10 episodes. That is like a really short amount of time to flesh out the story. These writers are so good about feeling the chemistry of the cast and writing towards us. So I am super proud.” She then added, “I am really proud and I feel like they really set a great foundation to tell more stories.”
There was one story that was told last week and I really hope it will continue in future episodes. Greg Grunberg guest starred on the show as Bonnie’s(Peterman) ex-husband aka the baby’s grandfather. Now I know at first the mother of a 6 year old was a little hesitant about playing a grandmother, but then she realized the benefits of being a young grandmother. So I asked her how Grunberg reacted to playing a grandfather on the show, she said “I think he embraced it like I did. You know what you are going to be hottest grandma and grandpa or at least ones that can drive at night. He enjoyed it. He was a good sport and I have a little bit more of a crush on him now then I did before.” And I am sure he feels the same way, how could you not like this very funny lady.
She told me she enjoyed working with a crush, now I want to know what scenes she liked filming this season. She said, “My favorite scene is with Derek when he is shirtless. I kept breaking during that scene because it is so hard…he looks like he is chiseled out from marble. I love scenes with Taj because we have a very good chemistry and we make each other laugh a lot. Chelsea makes me laugh, they all do.” It is nice to hear that not only does the cast make us laugh, but that they make each other laugh too.
There is one critic she really wants to make laugh and that is her son. When I asked if he watches, she told me “Wiley is 6. He just discovered the reruns of Reba and he thinks they are really funny. He was little when we were making them. But this one he loves the show. Although he gets a little jealous about the baby. He says ‘Whose that baby?’ I’m like ‘That’s Ally and that’s Suzy. That’s not my baby.’ He’s like ‘why you holding that baby so much?’ He’s six and he really doesn’t want to be carried around any more but yet it’s kind of sweet to have him act like that. He thinks the show is very funny.” She then told me what about the show always make her little boy laugh, “He always laughs at the title. He and his little friend go Baby Daddy and they giggle because they think it is hilarious.” If they only knew what it meant…
And one thing I do mean is that Baby Daddy is ABC Family’s best comedy so far, so if you are not watching it you are missing out on a hilarious show with a funny cast. So why not start watching it tonight and then catch up on the other episodes on ABCFamily.com. I promise you will laugh as hard as her son when he says “Baby Daddy”!
Before Melissa Peterman was a cashier on Working Class, she was a hooker in Fargo. She looks the same now as she did when she was 24 on in that 1996 movie. Ya, you betcha, ya.
