MADONNA ON THE “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN,†THURSDSAY, JANUARY 11, 2007
ABOUT THE CURRENT TREND OF CELEBRITY WOMEN NOT WEARING UNDERWEAR:
Letterman: “Now, I see these pictures on the Internet of some of your top stars of the day without their underpants.â€Â
Madonna: “Oh God.†(audience laughs)
Letterman: “You know what I’m talking about?â€Â
Madonna: “I’ve been hearing these stories. It’s dreadful.â€Â
Letterman: “It’s just remarkable.â€Â
Madonna: “I love underpants.†(Dave, audience laugh)
Letterman: “Yeah, who doesn’t?†(audience applauds) “I remember one night right here a long, long time ago – “
Madonna: “I brought you a pair of my underpants.â€Â
Letterman: “ – you gave me a pair of underpants. And I still have them, yes I do.â€Â
Madonna: “Maybe you could send them to Britney.†(Dave, audience laugh) “Honestly, I live in England and so, I get – I’m pretty cut off from a lot of these stories. I only read stuff about, or hear stuff about the Royal Family. And so I’ve come to New York and the first thing I hear is about everyone not wearing their underpants. What’s going on?†(Dave, audience laugh) “It’s freezing outside!â€Â
Letterman: “Yeah, but it’s interesting.â€Â
Late Show with David Letterman
BTW, the video is from when she gave him the underwear and not a preview of tonight’s show!
Wow, so since she kind of slammed Britney about not wearing underwear, I guess their friendship is over.
Angelina Jolie has insisted that she would never adopt a Third World child illegally. The Tomb Raider actress has two adopted children – six-year-old Maddox, born in Cambodia, and one-year-old Zahara Marley, from Ethiopa – but believes that Madonna was playing with fire when she took David Banda from Malawi. "Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born," Jolie told the Sunday Mirror. "It is a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption. Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal."
Madonna is learning to speak her adopted son’s native language. The ‘Hung Up’ singer and her director husband Guy Ritchie have been taking lessons in Chichewa, which is spoken in the African country of Malawi where baby David Banda was born. A source said: "Madonna and Guy use the few words they have learned – Mummy, Daddy, hello, my love and some others – every day. "Madonna knows a Chichewa lullaby called ‘Gona Mana’ and has been working on a guitar piece to go along with it." The source added: "David is a very smart little chap who idolises his brother Rocco."
Queen of pop Madonna is reportedly planning her first stint as a film director. Madge is hoping to follow in the footsteps of her director husband with a new film called ‘Blade To The Heart’. The film will tell the real life story of boxing rivals Emile Griffith and Benny ‘Kid’ Paret; Paret died in 1962 after a fight with Griffith. Madge’s company Maverick Entertainment is reportedly behind the film and it’s thought that she will step behind the camera and direct the feature length film.
