Tonight’s episode of Dr Ken on ABC at 8:30p is a Valentine’s Day episode and Ken Jeong is showing some love to two of his friends from the old Community. Well as in he having Joel McHale and Danny Pudi on the show, but their characters will not be getting much love on tonight’s hysterical episode.
Dave (Albert Tsai) has a crush on Emma and he wants to ask her to the school dance, so his mother and father (Jeong) offer to help him out. Only problem is that her dad (McHale) is Dr Ken’s arch nemesis, and he won’t let his baby girl go to the dance with the son of that man. Will the men get along long enough to let their kids be happy or will young love be squashed before it even begins?
While Dave and Emma’s relationship is tepid, Damona (Tisha Campbell-Martin) and Pat’s (Dave Foley) relationship is heating up. It is so hot, they have to go to HR about it.
While Pat and Damona’s love is on fire, Julie’s (Kate Simses) relationship with Topher (Pudi) is starting to cool off. She is throwing a Valentine’s Day party and he tells her he won’t be able to come. She decides to make it a President’s Day party instead. Will he show up or will she be spending Valentine’s Day alone?
I have seen every episode of Dr Ken and tonight’s is by far the funniest. I honestly didn’t stop laughing from the beginning of the episode until the end. So if you want to start your weekend off right, then you will want to watch this very funny episode.
Ken Jeong and the cast of Ride Along 2 were on Despierta America today and they asked them to dance. Not only did Dr Ken keep up with them, he proved to everyone that he can Salsa with the best of them. At least, if everyone is downing Margaritas like water!
Tonight at 8:30p on ABC, Dr Ken celebrates Thanksgiving in a way we have never been done on television before. When Dave (Albert Tsai) accidentally walks in on his sister changing, he notices that Molly (Krista Marie Yu) has a tattoo. Her dad (Ken Jeong) isn’t that mad about it, until he realizes it is in Japanese. You see, Dr Ken is Korean and his wife, Allison (Suzy Nakamura) is Japanese and now he is questioning how close he is to his heritage. When everyone tells him that he isn’t that Korean, he decides to change that and now his wife and him are turning their Thanksgiving into a Culture War. Who will win this battle? Not the people that they invited, that is for sure.
As bad as turkey dinner is for The Parks, it is not as bad as the one that Damona (Tisha Campbell-Martin) and Clark (Jonathan Slavin) are suffering through at Julie’s (Kate Simses) house. How will they get out of it? You just have to see it to believe it.
Not only are we thankful for this hit sitcom, so is Ken Jeong. Recently at a press event the former doctor turned actor told us how happy he is to have a show loosely based on his life and cast and crew that he enjoys working with on a daily basis. He told us, “At this point in my career, I’ve had the career that I wanted to have and then some. I just wanted to be a character actor, quit my day job.” Then he added, “I was in my late ‘30s and I was happily married. I didn’t need to be that famous or that rich, so to get this degree of exposure that I had and the success that I had. I really feel at this point in my life, it is kind of a bonus everything that I am doing right now.”
So on Thanksgiving when they go around the table and ask what you are most grateful for, he will have a lot to say. He will be able to say all of that, plus that he has more time to spend with his wife and 2 kids thanks to the format of the show and he is doing the sitcom he wanted to do after years of trying to make it happen. A show that is doing well in the ratings and already has a pretty big fan base after only being on television for a few weeks. By the time he is done saying all of that it will be time for Black Friday. But before we get to that, tune in tonight for another episode that is stuffed with laughter like a turkey is stuffed with stuffing!

It is time for Dr Ken‘s first Halloween episode tonight at 8:30p on ABC and it is a real treat!
Dr Ken and his wife got engaged on Halloween back in 1995, but it didn’t go as he planned. He decides to make it up to her by proposing at the same place where it all went down 20 years ago. When he goes to buy her the ring, Alison (Suzy Nakamura) gets a call from the credit card company about a possible fraudulent purchase. She calls him to find out what is going on and they get in a fight. Is his perfect proposal a bust again or will it finally work out this time for the not-so-happily married couple at the moment?
Meanwhile, his kids are having their own problems. Molly (Krista Marie Yu) takes her father’s favorite skeleton to a Halloween party; but when she stops short, Gary breaks in to 206 pieces. Now, Dave (Albert Tsai) and her have to put him back together before their dad finds out. Which gets really complicated when they discover that one of the bones is missing. What will they do?
As bad as all of that is, things are about to get a whole lot worse at the Welltopia Medical Group office. As Julie (Kate Simses) is talking to her boss Pat (Dave Foley), she doesn’t realize that he took one of her lollipops. What is so bad about that? It was a pharmaceutical sample and the lollipop is made of Fentanyl. Now their uptight boss is higher than kite. Damona (Tisha Campbell-Martin) and Julie have to keep an eye out on him, but when they lose track of him the unthinkable happens. What? You just have to tune in to find out.
All of that is a true treat, but the best part about the episode is Dr Ken’s costume. He goes to work dressed up at the Grim Reaper. Imagine what it would be like if your doctor walks in to your appointment dressed up as Death? Yeah, he had better have the paddles on standby. As we know, Ken Jeong was a doctor in real life and some of his real life experiences are making their way on to the show. This is one of them. About 10 years ago, his wife made a joke to him and it inspired the costume. Recently at a press day for the show, he told us “She would say, ‘Why don’t you dress as the Grim Reaper at the HMOs?'” While the two of them have been joking about since then, neither one of them did it until now. And they chose the safest place to do it, television.
There is a reason why Dr Ken was the first new comedy of the fall to get a full season pickup. It is the best one of the bunch and it gets better with each episode. So tune in tonight for an episode that will make you feel as happy as you did when you would come home with a full bag of candy as kid on Halloween. The best part is you won’t have a sugar hangover the next day, just memories of a great episode that made you laugh a lot.

Before Zach Galifianakis And Ken Jeong worked together in the Hangover franchise, they did stand up together at Petterson’s Coffeehouse in Los Angeles. How hilarious were the 28 year olds playing off of each other back in 1998?
