BTWF: Joel McHale in Diagnosis Murder
August 22nd, 2018 under Before They Were Famous, Dick Van Dyke, Joel McHale. [ Comments: none ]

Before Joel McHale was investigating murders in The Happytime Murders, he was the one who was murdered on Diagnosis Murder. He looks younger now than he did when he was 30 in that 2002 episode.

An inconvenient question could have led to an inconvenient joke on Match Game!
July 6th, 2018 under Alec Baldwin, Joel McHale, Laverne Cox. [ Comments: none ]

Match Game is back on ABC and the show had some new first-time celebrity panelists like David Arquette, Michael Ealy and Laverne Cox on the game show yesterday. Even though they are newbies, they showed us humor never gets old when it is unintended!

Alec Baldwin asked the question, “When Al Gore was younger, he made a movie called Inconvenient Truth. Now that he is getting older, he is seeing his doctor about an inconvenient blank.”

Alex was hoping that the celebs would say ache, and he was so wrong. So wrong, the audience rightfully booed him. Joel McHale went with, “constant pee.” Constance Zimmer thought it should be “hernia”. Arquette went with the opposite of McHale because he said, “poop.” Caroline Rhea’s response rhymed with Arquette’s because she thought it should be “tooth”.

Believe it or not, it was tame until then. When Alec got to Ealy, he wrote down “penis.” I guess he forgot who was sitting to his left. Before Baldwin even had a chance to say anything, Cox warned him, “Don’t go there Alec!” She then added, “No comment on that!” In case you have been living under a rock and a hard place, she previously went to her doctors for an inconvenient penis. Oh the jokes they could have made, but ABC’s censors would have Arquette’s answer if they did.

In case you were wondering, Cox went little higher with her answer. She thought of what most older men complain about and that is prostate.

When it comes to the newbies, I think all of them would make great repeat panelists. In fact, Cox was so funny, she deserves her own game show.

A Futile and Stupid Gesture looks potent and brilliant!
December 22nd, 2017 under Joel McHale, Netflix, Will Forte. [ Comments: none ]

Before there was Saturday Night Live, there was National Lampoon. Several of the people who worked with the National Lampoon, went on to SNL. A Futile and Stupid Gesture is the story of the people behind the magazine that changed comedy forever with their magazine and their films.

Will Forte leads the wacky group of people who made the ’70s even funnier. Plus, who doesn’t want to see how Joel McHale plays his former co-star Chevy Chase. That has to be an Oscar worthy performance if I ever heard one.

Therefore mark your calendars for January 26th because that is when retro humor will be current again.

Yahoo, Community has been saved!
June 30th, 2014 under Chevy Chase, Joel McHale, Yahoo. [ Comments: none ]

First NBC broke our hearts when they cancelled Community, and then Hulu did the same last week when they said they weren’t picking up the sitcom. But today Yahoo made us smile with glee when they announced that they picked up the show for a 6th season! That’s right, this fall we will be getting 13 new episodes on Yahoo Screen.
Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong, Oscar winner Jim Rash and Executive Producer Dan Harmon will all be back in Greendale. Chevy Chase was expelled a while ago and will not be there. So how do they feel about the move? Harmon said, “I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!” And McHale added, “Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It’s the internet. We can swear now.” F*ck yeah! That is what Community was missing, cursing! Now the show is complete!
So how happy are you that Yahoo saved Greendale? I know, I can’t wait to see how they mesh this news in with the 6th season premiere in the fall. And I also want more musical numbers.
