Tonight on Jeopardy, Alex Trebek answered an easy question, or so he thought. The host wanted to know, “As the recipient of the 2018 Icon Award, she took ‘Control’ & took the stage in her first live TV performance in nearly a decade.” If you still don’t know who that is, then the game show made it even easier by showing some video of the female singer at that awards show.
At this point, everyone is like Janet Jackson. Well, everyone but Alwin. He thought it was Ariana Grande. The contestant is a nasty ponytailist. He thinks everyone with long ponytails look alike, and we don’t.
Alex Trebeck is everyone’s favorite Canadian (apologies to the two Ryans). He is so lovable, and never intentionally says anything mean to anyone on the show. However, the other night he did.
The Jeopardy host was talking to a contestant about her favorite type of music, and he said to her, “It doesn’t like fun.”
What type of music is it? She says it is called Nerd Core Hip Hop. I never heard of it, have you? We are not alone, Trebeck was also clueless about it, so he asked what it is for $200.
Susan says it is for “People, who identify as nerdy, rapping about the things they love, videogames, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners. You Know?” This is where it got really good. Without hesitation, Trebeck responds to her with, “Losers, in other words.”
I have no idea where that came from because he always so nice, but I love it. It is so out of right field; I didn’t know how to react to him being all savage. Therefore, I had to watch it over and over again. You know what, it gets funnier every time.
When it comes to the musicians of Nerd Core Hip Hop, I can already imagine their diss back. They’ll be like, “We might be losers, but we are the ones playing Jeopardy. You are just the host!” He will tell them, “Yeah, but I live in a multi-dollar mansion with a much younger wife, and you live in your mother’s basement with a fleshlight.” With that, the mic has been dropped.
UPDATE: My friend told me this is an oldie but goodie diss. It originally aired in October of 2016.
Drake might only be 33 years old, but his nearly 20-year career has earned him his own category on Jeopardy. Granted, it was during the 2020 College Championship Quarterfinal Winners Circle, so those students better know him. Although, they were just babies when he was starring on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Not just Degrassi.
I got all the answers correct, how did you do? What is really sad, for me, is that I did a better job with Drake than Hugh Jackman. Sorry, Hugh.
Yesterday on Jeopardy, Alex Trebek asked the contestants to identify some Lyrics of Today. Adam decided to give his try at the $1,000 question, which meant that the host had to ask them to tell him who sang these words, “New man on the Minnesota Vikings, Truth hurts, needed something more exciting, Bom bom bi bom bi dum bum bay.”
You can’t read the lyrics without singing them, that is exactly what he did for Lizzo’s song. Since the Truth Hurts, we will say that he did a perfect rendition of it!
Alex Trebeck once again proves why he is a national treasure.

For the last few years. we have been hearing all about the British Royals, but how well do we know them? That is what Jeopardy wanted to know. Therefore, Alex Trebeck asked them five questions.
How well did they do? There was one question that stumped us all. Will you be able to answer it with a question? If you can, then you deserve to sit on the throne and wear the crown.
