Alex Trebek’s final Jeopardy episodes air next week
December 30th, 2020 under Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

On November 8th, Alex Trebek lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. On January 8th, two months after his passing, his final episode of Jeopardy will air.

He taped those episodes back in October, and no one knew they would be his final ones. I think that is how he would have wanted it.

Having said that, the game show promises they will be special. These episodes were originally going to air Christmas week, but they decided to hold them until the new year because of preemptions. Because of the original plan, Monday’s episode will feature a powerful message from Trebek about the season of giving.

Then on Friday, his final episode, Jeopardy will pay tribute to him and his 36+ years hosting the game show that made him one the most loved people in North America.

Get the tissues ready because we are going to need them.

Jeopardy will resume production with guest hosts
November 23rd, 2020 under Jeopardy. [ Comments: none ]

Alex Trebek passed away on November 8th from pancreatic cancer. Many of us assumed that it would probably be the end of Jeopardy. It is not.

Today, they announced that the show will begin production again on November 30th with guest hosts until they find a permanent one. GOAT winner Ken Jennings will start it off.

“Alex believed in the importance of JEOPARDY! and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him,” said Jeopardy! Executive Producer Mike Richards. “We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved with smart contestants and challenging clues. By bringing in familiar guest hosts for the foreseeable future, our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our viewers.”

Trebek’s last episode was supposed to air on Christmas Day, but they have changed the date because of preemptions. They will air his top 10 greatest episodes between December 21st and December 28th. His final episode will now air on January 4th. Then a week later, new episodes will debut with the guest hosts.

Who would you like to see guest host? I would love to see Neil DeGrasse Tyson give it a try. I want a lovable nerd in that job. Someone a lot like Trebek.

Yesterday, we sadly lost Alex Trebek to stage IV pancreatic cancer. Before tonight’s episode of Jeopardy started, Executive Producer Mike Richards paid tribute to the beloved host.

“He loved this show and everything it stood for,” Richards said. “He will forever be an inspiration for his constant desire to learn, his kindness, and for the love of his family.”

Trebek loved doing the game show so much that he filmed his last episode less than two weeks ago. There are 34 more unaired episodes, and they will air between now and Christmas Day.

Thank you, Alex. What is, we will never forget you.

Before Alex Trebek was hosting Jeopardy, he was the MC of the Canadian American Band type show Music Hop. Even when he was just 21 years old, he had that lovable host thing going on back in 1962.

Alex Trebeck lost his battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer today at the age of 80. Jeopardy’s Twitter page wrote, “Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.”

The beloved game show host was so brave as he shared his nearly two-year battle with the disease. He didn’t hold back about how the treatment and cancer were taking its toll on him physically and emotionally, but it did not stop him.

He taped his last episode on October 29th, and it will air on December 25th.

Today let’s honor a man who was as humble and nice as he was smart and ask every question as an answer.
