Congrats to Jamie Lee Curtis on her first Oscar nomination
January 24th, 2023 under Jamie Lee Curtis, Oscars. [ Comments: none ]

Jamie Lee Curtis is 64 years old, a Hollywood legacy, and has been acting for over 45 years. Throughout her remarkable and diverse career, she has starred in many acclaimed movies and has been recognized for her work. But never by AMPAS.

Today, after all of her hard work, she is finally being recognized by the Academy Awards because she finally received her first Oscar nomination. She is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.

This is an honor that she has long deserved. Not only for her acting but also because she has inspired and mentored those who came after her and has remained humble throughout it all.

So, I say congrats to her and everyone else from Everything, Everywhere, All At Once for their 11 nominations. Hopefully, they will sweep the Oscars on March 12th.

Jamie Lee Curtis went to the Golden Globes and all she got was COVID-19
January 13th, 2023 under Coronavirus, Jamie Lee Curtis. [ Comments: none ]

Jamie Lee Curtis attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday and watched her Everything Everywhere All at Once co-stars, Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh, win awards, as did their film, but she went home empty-handed. Or so she thought.

“Fuck COVID,” the actress wrote. “Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms. I’m glad that there are all these home tests available so that I didn’t go to the @americanfilminstitute lunch and spread my germs. I was SO looking forward to going to the @bafta tea and the @criticschoice awards as a nominee and member of a motley crew! I’m so proud of these people, and I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.”

Hopefully, she will be better soon.

And I know she didn’t get COVID at the Globes. It takes longer than two days for symptoms to show and to test positive.

Words of Wizdumb from Jamie Lee Curtis
September 29th, 2022 under Jamie Lee Curtis, Words of Wizdumb. [ Comments: none ]

It is September 29th, and we are about a month away from Halloween and three away from Christmas. Therefore, you would think we would still be in spooky season. But the only scary thing going on is that we are already hearing Christmas Carols.

And Jamie Lee Curtis, who is promoting her holiday movie, has a message for all the people who have their jingle bells ringing, “What the fuck is happening with people? What the fuck is happening?” I wish I knew.

We should at least wait until when Halloween Ends comes out on October 14th before we switch from one Scream Queen to the next one, you know, from Curtis to Mariah Carey. I said it, and I meant it!

It is Laurie Strode vs Michael Myers until Halloween Ends
July 20th, 2022 under Blumhouse, Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis. [ Comments: none ]

Blumhouse released the trailer for the final Halloween movie in the 45-year franchise. And wow, Halloween Ends is going to go out in flames. I can’t wait to see how they end it all because the last two movies have been spectacular.

And now, I am wondering who lives and who dies. Part of me thinks it either ends with Michael Myers surviving or both of them dying. I don’t think it can end with Laurie Strode being the sole survivor unless she becomes a serial killer like her brother.

Halloween just doesn’t feel like it should end on a happy note. It is not a Disney movie. So they need to die miserably ever after.

How do you want to franchise to end when it comes out on October 14th.

BTWF: Jamie Lee Curtis in Columbo

Before Jamie Lee Curtis was a Dean at a college in Scream Queens, she was a waitress in Columbo. She looks the same now as she did when she was 18 in that 1978 episode.
