James Corden dreamed a dream of doing Les Misérables in Paris, but it turned out the be a nightmare for the French people. Maybe because the people in Los Angeles, Manhattan and England know who the Late Late Show host is, they were OK with him stopping traffic. However, the Parisians were less than thrilled. Their grumpy faces say it all.
Or their faces might look like that because the musical lives up to its name as in it is miserable. I cannot be the only person who hated it? Thus, you can not blame the French for not liking that representation of them coming back to haunt them?
He would have been better off doing Jerry Lewis bits. Now that would have turned their frowns upside down.
James Corden decided to challenge Chris Hemsworth to contest to see who could be a better waiter at a posh restaurant in London. Who is going to win? As if the Late Late Show host even had a chance of winning. No way in hell. Then again Thor did not play fair. He used his looks, strength, charm and looks.
I wish Hemsworth did more comedic movies because he is actually really funny. At least ones that are truly a comedy and not an unfunny remake or reboot like Ghostbusters or Men In Black: International. Those were so bad and I did not even see them. You didn’t have to watch them to know how awful they are.
James Corden’s contract is up next year and there are rumors he will sign on for another three years. Recently he was interviewed by Stagecoach and they asked him about his future with the show.
He told them, “We’re a long way from home, my wife and I, and our children, and there are people at home that we miss deeply and we care about and they’re getting older.” It is not only the adults in their lives that are getting older, so are his three kids. On Max, 8, Charlotte, 4, and Carey, 1, he said, “Then there is the question of where do we educate our children and where is the best environment for them.”
This could be a way of negotiating more money for himself, but he says that money is not a factor in his decision. Even while hosting The Late Late Show, he has continued to act. Maybe he also wants to continue doing that full time.
It was recently announced that he is doing a Christmas special of his Britsh show Gavin and Stacey. That might make him miss London and acting even more. Although, what will make him miss it the most is being home this week filming LLS there. Nothing will make you more homesick than being home.
Will you miss him if he goes? I know one person who will not and that is Seth Meyers.
Back in 1981, Mark Hamill was a household name thanks to Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. Because of that fame, he was able to star in The Elephant Man on Broadway. While that was him, Bradley Whitford was waiting for his start in the biz and was working as a waiter in Manhattan to make ends meet. The Studio 60 star got a little treat one night when Luke Skywalker walked into his restaurant and sat down at his table. Not only that he got a good tip from the star.
Yesterday, when they were both on The Late Late Show, James Corden wanted to see if Hamill remembered that moment from nearly 40 years ago. Sadly, he did not.
What he did remember was when he worked as a waiter and that is why he gave Whitford a good tip. He also remembered when he worked at Jack in the Box. He was in the back, but all he wanted to do was work the window at the drive-thru. Finally, he was given the chance and felt that the clown needed to sounded like a clown. He did his best clown voice and his manager sent him home…permanently.
I wonder if that manager realizes he fired the future voice of Joker? I wonder what he is doing now? Besides kicking himself for firing Mark Hamill.
Céline Dion finally got her Carpool Karaoke ride with James Corden yesterday and she might have regretted doing that. After she told him that she has a warehouse of around 10,000 shoes, he decided that she needed to give some of them away to the people walking on the Las Vegas Strip. These shoes are made for walking and walking’s what they will do.
Which is one of the few songs they did not sing on their day trip. She came in vocals blazing, ready for a good time. It was not only her voice that made you love her, but it was also her facial expression. Her facial movements to the instrumental beginning of It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, ruined the song for me and yet I cannot stop listening to it today.
The best part was their encore. They sang My Heart Will Go On on a boat in the makeshift lake at the Bellagio. It is everything that scene in that Titanic should have been.
