The Fonz and Bobby Ewing share the British stage for a night!
November 24th, 2006 under Henry Winkler, Stage. [ Comments: none ]

With The Fonz playing Captain Hook and a former Dallas star playing a baron in Cinderella, this year’s pantomime season has a touch of iconic America. Former American television stars Henry Winkler and Patrick Duffy, along with their panto co-stars, attended the National Press Launch of Family Entertainment’s run of pantos. Held at the Piccadilly Theatre in Central London, the launch of Christmas pantomimes this year included Aladdin, Cinderella, Mother Goose, Peter Pan, Jack & the Beanstalk, and Snow White. Winkler began his role on Happy Days as a minor character but, by the end of the show’s run in 1984, had become an national icon. Duffy played Bobby Ewing in the classic 80s soap opera Dallas and later gained a following as a hapless dad in the sitcom Step by Step.

The Fonz as Captain Hook
September 17th, 2006 under Henry Winkler, Stage. [ Comments: none ]

Oh Happy Days – The Fonz is to star in panto this Christmas. Actor Henry Winkler will play Captain Hook in Peter Pan at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre. David Hasselhoff was originally offered the role but pulled out to appear on Simon Cowell’s new US show America’s Got Talent. Winkler, 60, will co-star with entertainer Bobby Davro. The show marks his British stage debut. "I’m thrilled to be doing this and I’m honoured to be one of the first Americans invited to appear in panto. We don’t have panto in America and it sounds unbelievably fun," he said. "I love the Peter Pan story and I love Captain Hook. He’s a villain but, hey, he had his hand bitten off by a crocodile – you have to feel some sympathy for the guy." Winkler, whose film credits include Scream and The Waterboy, found fame as Arthur ‘Fonz’ Fonzarelli in hit show Happy Days. It ran from 1974-84 and the character became an icon – with The Fonz always sporting his trademark biker jacket and Elvis quiff. "I won’t be bringing too much of The Fonz into Captain Hook because it might get confusing for the audience – but I may keep the quiff under my wig just for old times’ sake," Winkler said. The show opens on December 8 and runs until January 14. Producer Kevin Wood said: "Henry was an obvious choice for us. He is a brilliant actor and is known for his larger than life performances as The Fonz across the globe. Parents will know and remember him fondly and a new generation of children will get to know his unique sense of humour."

The Fonz replaces The Hoff
July 25th, 2006 under David Hasselhoff/Baywatch, Henry Winkler. [ Comments: none ]

Winkler – best known for playing super-cool character The Fonz in ‘Happy Days’ – will play villain Captain Hook in New Wimbledon Theatre’s Christmas production of ‘Peter Pan’. Hasselhoff, dubbed ‘The Hoff’ by fans, dropped out of the production citing other work commitments. Winkler – who has starred in a host of films, including ‘The Waterboy’ and ‘Scream’ – is being paid £100,000 for his appearance in the family show. Last month, theatre producers were left fuming after Hasselhoff broke his contract to take up a better offer, joining Simon Cowell as a judge on new reality TV show ‘America’s Got Talent’.Hasselhoff said on his website at the time: "Unfortunately, I will be unable to appear in the New Wimbledon Theatre’s Christmas pantomime production of ‘Peter Pan’ due to conflicting dates with a TV commitment in the States."

The Fonz and the original Charlie’s Angels?
July 12th, 2006 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling, Henry Winkler. [ Comments: none ]

Access is ready for one heavenly reunion.
After 25 years off the air – and with a combined age of 176 – the ladies of "Charlie’s Angels" could be getting back together. With a little help from the Fonz!
Thirty years after it aired,"Charlie’s Angels" lives on. And according to USA Today, Henry Winkler is working his "Fonzy" skills to woo the original "Angels" triple threat: Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith to swoop onto screens once again for an ABC retrospective special. But getting the winged ones to agree is another story. "Little kids come up to me, I’d say from 7 to 12, and I’m like, how do they know me?" Farrah laughed. Fawcett, now 59, and perhaps the most famous "Angel" after only one season on the show as Jill Monroe, has yet to commit. While Kate, 57, who played brainy Sabrina Duncan, has "issues" with participating.
But what about our Kelly, the idol of brunette girls everywhere during the show’s heyday? She’s embracing the reunion with open wings.Jaclyn, 60, said she would be happy to participate. "It’s a compliment to our show that we’re still talking about it," Jaclyn said.

For anyone who saw the made-for-TV-movie about Charlie’s Angels’s, it should not be suprising why Kate Jackson is saying no. If you haven’t seen the movie, don’t!

I want to see CLICK just for this!
June 19th, 2006 under Adam Sandler, Henry Winkler. [ Comments: none ]

HENRY WINKLER experienced a flash-back while filming his latest movie CLICK, as he was made-up to resemble his iconic character FONZIE. The 60-year-old star had to age from 24 to 86 during the movie and make-up artists made him up to resemble his character ARTHUR FONZERELLI from the hit 1970s show HAPPY DAYS for his younger scenes. He explains, "They used the picture that was the first picture that ABC took for publicity in Malibu and I brought that to the makeup artist. "For the 24-year-old they used seven pieces of surgical tape and pulled my face to the north. "And then for the 86-year-old, I had 12 pieces of rubber that for five and half hours they pasted on my face."
