So many people want to see Ricky Gervais do his thing in person that he became a Guinness World Record Holder because of them.
The comedian made this year’s book for the Highest Gross for a Single Stand-Up Performance. He earned that title when he sold out the Hollywood Bowl on May 6, 2023, and made $1,790,206.50 for the one-night stand.
Gervais said, “As if packing out The Hollywood Bowl wasn’t enough, now Guinness World Records wants to put me in their big book. What a year!”
His Armageddon tour is still going strong. If you missed his record-breaking performance or any of the other shows, don’t worry. Netflix will air his comedy special when the tour concludes.
UPDATE: Ricky Gervais wrote his comment on social media, “When I was little, I’d get the The Guinness Book of Records for xmas every year. The whole family would read it. I think my mum would be prouder of me being in this book than anything else I’ve done ❤️”
Hey, Billy Ray Cyrus, I’ve got some bad news that is going to break your achy, breaky heart. You no longer have the most famous mullet in Tennessee. The title now goes to Tami Manis.
That is because she is in 2024’s Guinness Book of World Records with the World’s Longest Competitive Mullet (female). It stands at 5’8″ long. I say stands because it is taller than she is.
Manis started growing the back of her hair out in the mid-’80s after seeing Aimee Mann in Til Tuesday’s music video for Voices Carry. However, in 1989, she cut her rattail.
Then, in February 1990, she missed her long locks, so she decided to grow it back. And it has been growing ever since.
What is her secret to the party in the back? She uses Hask hair products and Aragon oil conditioner.
Those products have worked so well that they earned her a place in a record book.
Kimberly “Kimycola” Winter has a loud burp. How loud? She broke the Guinness World Record with it. How loud is it? It registered at 107.3 decibels.
Kimycola prepared for weeks to perfect her loud belch for the record-breaking moment. So what was her secret? She ate breakfast and drank coffee and beer to achieve the deafening sound.
Is her family embarrassed by it? No, they are proud of the little girl with the big burp.
However, Kimycola might lose her title to one of her family members. Her little sis has an impressive one too. So who knows, in a few years, she might be reaching out to Guinness?
There are a lot of Guinness World Records that the average person cannot accomplish. However, there is one that over 150 people think they can beat the current record holder.
What is it? It is The Fastest Time to Drink a Capri Sun. Andre Ortolf sucked one up in 10.41 seconds in December. And it looks like his record won’t hold because the applications are coming in to beat his time.
Don’t feel too bad for him. He has over a dozen other records in the book.
Now back to the record. I want to try it. But then again, I would think of it as sucking up the last tapioca ball in a Boba tea. I can get those suckers up in no time.
