What is the cast of Ghosts’ favorite episodes?
December 23rd, 2021 under CBS, Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight starting at 8:30p, CBS is going to air a 5-episode marathon of Ghosts, the #1 new comedy on broadcast TV, and rightfully so. The network let the viewers decide which shows they should air for Ghostmas. The audience has spoken, and we chose Pete’s Wife, Viking Funeral, D&D, Alberta’s Fan and Possession.

We did good with our choices, but does the cast agree with us? I recently attended the CBS Winter TCA Press Day, and I asked the cast what their favorite episodes are. What did they tell me?

Asher Grodman, who plays Trevor, the pantless businessman from the ’80s, said, “I’ll say this. But this is a sentimental thing. For me, the pilot is just very special, because it’s what brought us all together, and it was this thing that was kind of floating in the air that we just never were sure was going to come to fruition.” He added. “That’s a nice way for me to side—step your question. But it’s the pilot, because it was just like the —— it was the end of the tunnel.” Sadly, the pilot episode is not airing tonight. However, you can and should watch it on Paramount+ or CBS OnDemand.

While we won’t see that tonight, it is starting off with Pete’s Wife. Three cast members weighed in on that one. Utkarsh Ambudkar, who is Jay a living so he can’t see the Ghosts, said, “I like Pete. I like Pete’s episode.”

Viking Thorfinn, played by Devan Chandler Long, added, “Pete’s was the most emotional. I cried. That was touching. Román Zaragoza, the native American ghost Sasappis, chimed in with, “And Devan, we got to do some fun stuff in that one. That was a beautiful one.” Long concluded with, “Yeah, it was one.”

So what episode does Richie Moriarty, who plays Pete, prefer? He said, “I really liked D&D, too. I loved Brandon [Scott Jones] and Nigel’s storyline. I love John Hartman, who plays Nigel. I think he’s so good,” Then he shared another part of the game-changing episode. “And I love the opening up this opportunity to communicate more with Jay. Having us playing with Jay in that episode was a super fun kind of new window into a great side of things in this show. So that was an exciting episode, too.”

Three other actors talked about an episode that was not centered around them. Flower child Flower, played by Sheila Carrasco, said, “I was going to say, I loved watching Alberta’s Fan. It’s really fun, Danielle [Pinnock] do her thing and watching Rebecca [Wisocky] and Devan have their storyline. It was such a beautifully written, such a well-done episode.” Carrasco did not appear in it, so she wanted to let us know, “It was so cool to be able to watch it as just a fan of all of these amazing actors.”

Critics Choice Award nominee Brandon Scott Jones, who plays the Revolutionary War soldier Isaac, added, “I’ll say that the moment at the end of Alberta’s Fan where she goes, ‘Because I’m famous,’ lives in my head rent-free. And will even long after I’m dead. I will be buried with that in a loop in my coffin.”

Rebecca Wisocky,  who stars as Hetty, the Victorian owner of the mansion they all live in, pitched a future for her co-star by saying, “The flashback that we’re all dying to see is Alberta singing in that club back in the day. That’s our secret cast wish, for that to happen sooner rather than later.”

There was one more actor who added her thoughts. Rose McIver, who sees the Ghosts had a great answer, “I think the Season 2 premiere, when we get that one day, is going to be even stronger.” I kind of agree with her. I would’ve said the 10th season premiere because I don’t want this show going anywhere anytime soon.

To see why I and so many others love Ghosts, tune into the Ghostmas marathon tonight.

BTWF: Brandon Scott Jones in Sex, Drugs and Hard Rock Cafe
December 23rd, 2021 under Before They Were Famous, Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Before Brandon Scott Jones was fought the British on Ghosts, he believed in Anarchy in the UK in Sex, Drugs and Hard Rock Cafe. He looks the same now as he did when he was 25 in that 2010 short.

We need more actors to love their work like Ghosts’ Danielle Pinnock
December 13th, 2021 under Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Danielle Pinnock has been acting for over five years in front of the camera, and this year she landed her big break with Ghosts on CBS. She plays a Jazz singer from the Roarin’ Twenties who died in the house and has been haunting it ever since.

The show is this season’s biggest hit because it keeps finding new viewers every week instead of losing them. Case in point, on December 2nd, an episode that focused on her character Alberta aired. People loved it so much that lots of people found it online after its original airing.

“Bawling my eyes out. The ‘Alberta’s Fan’ episode of @GhostsCBS got the Seven Day Playback Ratings…and it received the Highest Ratings for an Episode to Date. 8.3 million views! Y’all,” Pinnock wrote. “I couldn’t have done it without y’all.”

How many actors care enough about acting these days that they would cry tears of joy over amazing ratings for an episode that is centered around them? Not many. That is why I adore Ghosts so much because she is not the only actor who feels this way about their work on the program.

Another great thing about Ghosts is that the cast is an ensemble, but they also shine as individuals. Pinnock and her character stand out, as did her episode. That is why people went out of their way to find it. If you haven’t seen Alberta’s Fan, you can watch it on Paramount+. Or you can watch it on December 23rd when CBS airs a five-episode Ghostmas marathon. Even though we have up until the 15th to vote for our favorite episodes, I am pretty sure it will be up there.

Not only is her episode great, but all of them are. So. discover the show that more and more people are falling in love with it every week. I know you will love the series as much as Pinnock and I do.

Oh, and if I were Pinnock, I would make sure to flush her toenail clippings from now on. If that makes no sense to you, then you need to watch Ghosts. I promise you won’t be disappointed! It is the show we all needed this year and didn’t know it.

CBS wants to know your favorite Ghosts’ episodes for a marathon on December 23rd
December 10th, 2021 under Ghosts. [ Comments: 1 ]

Ghosts/CBS

If you ask a fan of CBS’s Ghosts what their favorite episode is, then they will tell you all ten of the ones that have aired so far. However, CBS wants us to limit that number down to five. So they are asking us to tell them on their Twitter page, which ones you want to see on December 23rd for the Ghostmas mini-marathon by the 15th. The winners will be announced on the 18th.

I say we should pick the best five, so we can get more people to watch the most enjoyable new sitcom in a really long time. Long enough for the last one to be a ghost. See what I did there?

Anyways, it is not about me? It is about Ghosts! Today, I spoke to the cast, Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Rebecca Wisocky, Sheila Carrasco, Danielle Pinnock, Roman Zaragoza, and Devan Chandler Long, along with EPs Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, at the CBS TCA Winter Press Day, and they told me their favorite episodes. I will tell you what they said on the day of the marathon. But I will give you a little preview, and that is that McIver said it is the season 2 premiere because that means they got picked up for another one. I kind of agree with her, but I would have preferred she said season 10. Something I am sure pantless Grodman might disagree with after season three.

.But that’s a long ways away. Let’s focus on the upcoming episodes after the marathon. Soon we will not be playing, guess which ghost will not be appearing on that episode. That is because they will all be in it for the second half of the season. We are going to find out how and why Trevor died with no pants on. And the best part is we will meet Sasapiss’ (Roman Zaragoza) dad, and he will be played by Roman’s real dad Gregory Zaragoza. How cool is that?>

There is so much to look forward to, and we can only do that if we get more people to watch. So, let’s pick our favorite episodes and tell everyone we know to watch on the 23rd! What else are we going to do as we prepare for Christmas over the next two days? Let’s do something we like before we go into family hell.

Merry Ghostmas!

Get possessed by Ghosts tonight on CBS!
December 9th, 2021 under Ghosts. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on CBS, one of the Ghosts possesses Jay on what is a very important day for him.

Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) are going to meet with a wedding planner to possibly hold a wedding at the mansion. What could go wrong? When the electrician cancels on them again, Jay decides to do the work himself. He doesn’t know what he is doing, so he gets electrocuted. Then he winds up falling back on Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), causing her to get stuck inside of him.

Well, if you are a ghost who hasn’t been in a living body in like 150 years, what would you do? Exactly what Hetty does and takes over completely.

However, that is bad because the wedding planner is there, and he wants to be served a meal from Jay. But Hetty just wants to enjoy the ingredients that she has never tried.

Meanwhile, the other Ghosts are trying to help Sam come up with a way to free Jay of Hetty. Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) says the same thing happened to him, and they did an exorcism to free him. So Sam makes some phone calls, and no one is available to help her.

Pete (Richie Moriarty), Trevor (Asher Grodman), Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), and Sasappis (Roman Zaragoza) are jealous of Hetty. But they are still trying to help Sam and Jay stop the wedding planner from leaving. That is when the Ghosts tell Flower (Sheila Carrasco) to do what she does to stop him.

It works, but Hetty is still in Jay, and she is not letting go. Will Jay finally have control of his body before the couple’s bed and breakfast is blacklisted before it is even opened for business?

You are not going to want to miss this show’s best episode to date, and they have all been phenomenal. And phenomenal is what Ambudkar is tonight as he takes on Wisocky’s character’s personality. There were times I forgot he was still him because it really was like he possessed his co-star’s personality.

Writer Rishi Chitkara understood the assignment and gave us an episode we will be watching over and over again. It is so rare that a program delivers an episode as enjoyable as this one. But Ghosts keeps doing it every week, and tonight is the sweetest one of them all.

So tune in, fall in love with it, and then watch all the episodes while all of the shows are on hiatus for winter break.
