Tonight at 9p on CBS’s Ghosts, Alberta finds out she is still loved nearly 100 years after her death.
Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) was a Jazz singer in the Roarin’ 20s, but she met her fate in the house and has been stuck there ever since. She never knew if people still adored her like they did when she was alive. However, that is all about to change when a man named Todd comes to visit.
He tells Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) that he is there because he is writing a book about Alberta. Not only that, he is part of a museum that is dedicated to her. Alberta is so happy she is loved that she could die…again.
She is even happier when he asks to be Sam and Jay’s first Bed and Breakfast guest. That is until he reveals something that shocks even her. Actually, it shocks everyone and grosses them out too. And me too.
Anyways as shocking as all of that is, we find out something at the end of episode that is a game-changer. What? I can’t tell you.
But I can tell you it is so lovely that Pinnock finally got her episode to shine! Her character stands out, but now it is time for her to get a standalone episode. The writers did an excellent job for her.
They also did good with the story they wrote for Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) and Thorfinn (Devan Chandler). It turns out that they have been connected since she was a living girl. She forgot about that until tonight, and this changes their friendship in a very sweet way.
I just love Ghosts. You should too. So watch it every Thursday at 9p on CBS.

What if Ghosts were a ’90s sitcom? |

Ghosts’ actress Danielle Pinnock imagined what it would be like if the CBS sitcom aired in the ’90s as compared to 2021.
Therefore, she dressed up like all of her co-stars, Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman, Rebecca Wisocky, Sheila Carrasco, Roman Zaragoza, and Devan Chandler Long, and partied like it was 1999. Well, maybe not all of them, but you can’t blame her for skipping that other ghost.
.
Anyways, seeing what she did here is why we love her as Alberta on the show that airs Thursdays at 9p. Oh, and did I mention we get her character’s backstory tomorrow? It is another episode that will make you laugh, get the feels, and laugh some more. And that is why they couldn’t make Ghosts in the ’90s. Back then, they weren’t as smart as they are now. It was all cheese back then, and this program is anything but cheesy.

Before Román Zaragoza was one of the outspoken Ghosts, he was the quiet member of the Glee Club on Austin & Ally. He looks the same now as he did when was 17 in that 2014 episode.

Tonight at 9p on CBS, the Ghosts and Jay, who can’t see or hear them like his wife, find a way to come together. What unites them? Dungeons & Dragons that is what!
Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) plays D&D with his old friends in NYC via Zoom. However, his internet keeps dropping out, so they drop him. When he tells Sam (Rose McIver) about it, Pete (Richie Moriarty) overhears the conversation and tells her he used to play all the time when he was alive in the ’80s. Jay suggests that he plays the game with Pete, and she translates what he does. She agrees to do it, along with Trevor (Asher Grodman), Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), and Sasappis (Roman Zaragoza). The Ghosts enjoy playing the game with the livings, but Sam finds it boring. What happens when she tells Jay the Ghosts don’t want to play anymore? They find a way to communicate with Jay. It is about time they ratted Sam out, instead of them always tattling on Jay eating FloOreos.
Jay is not the only one connecting with the Ghosts. Sam finds out that three British soldiers from the Revolutionary War live on her property in a shed. When they come to the house to confront Sam, she finds out that Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) fought against them. Not only that, Isaac has been keeping a secret from Nigel (John Hartman), the British soldiers’ leader, all of these years. What is it? All I will say, we might have another Revolutionary War over it. Will they be able to call a truce before there is an all-out war? There is only one to solve their differences.
The thing I enjoyed most about this episode is that they found a way for Jay and the Ghosts to communicate. I can’t tell you how that you have to tune in and see. But it is sweet and funny at the same time.
Everything about Ghosts is sweet and funny. That is why anyone who watches it is falling in love with it. They even made me want to play Dungeons & Dragons. Just don’t tell my friends because they will take me up on it.
However, I might say yes if we can watch Ghosts while we play. It is my goal to get as many people as I can to watch because I need this show to come back for a second season. It is the only feel good show I am watching, and we all need that these days.

Tonight at 9p on CBS’s Ghosts, Sam (Rose McIver), who is a freelance journalist, wants to write an article for the local newspaper. So she has to pitch them some stories. That is when the Ghosts tell her that Flower (Sheila Carrasco) robbed a bank with her commune back in the ’60s and never got caught. They were doing a Robin Hood-type bank robbery. It sounds like the perfect debut story for Sam to write. There is only one problem; Flower won’t let her write it. What is she hiding? Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) and Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) are on the case.
When Sam goes to the newspaper office, she meets two ghosts. One of those ghosts has a connection to one of her Ghosts, as in a love connection. Now, she wants to reunite them in her special way. However, her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) thinks he knows exactly what to say to her, and Trevor (Asher Grodman), Pete (Richie Moriarty), and Sasappis (Roman Zaragoza) agree with him. Will the dead lovers have a lively rendezvous?
I can’t tell you that. But I can tell you we learn about ghost sex tonight. Now, I bet you want to watch.
That should be just one of the reasons to watch the show that everyone who is tuning in is falling in love with it. That is why their numbers keep growing. Check it out tonight and see why it is this season’s most-loved new show. It has laughs, heart, and it is an enjoyable half-hour of television you don’t want to miss.
Now, I just want to talk about McIver for a second. She is a very underrated actress. She was incredible on iZombie every week as she changed up her character to match whatever brains she ate. She is equally as impressive on Ghosts. So much so, I forget that she is from New Zealand and not America. Maybe Nicole Kidman can take a lesson from her to learn how to talk like an American if she is going to keep attempting to be playing one. Just saying. McIver doesn’t have that nasally thing about her when she talks that Kidman does.
