January 16th, 2023 under Before They Were Famous, George Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

Before George Lopez had his own talk show, he made his debut on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. How hysterical was the 30-year-old in 1991?

NBC celebrates Christmas with Lopez vs Lopez and Young Rock

Christmas is coming early on NBC tonight because they are giving us two holiday-themed episodes starting at 8p.

First up is Lopez vs Lopez. All Mayan wants for Christmas is for her divorced parents to celebrate the holiday with her. That and her dad (George Lopez) doesn’t drink, and her mom (Selenis Leyva) doesn’t go overboard. Will she get her wish?

All I will tell you is fans of The George Lopez Show get a gift when Constance Marie, Valente Rodriguez, Luis Armand Garcia, and Belita Moreno are guest stars on the very funny episode.

Then at 8:30p, it is time for Dwanta Claus on Young Rock. We get to see how The Rock celebrated Christmas as a kid and a young adult.

When Dewey (Adrian Groulx) was a little boy, his family didn’t have a lot of money. So, he didn’t get the gifts he wanted. However, this year, he made sure his mom got him the one he wanted. But what is he going to get her? It is not going to be easy because he only has $4 to his name.

Now that DJ is on his way to becoming a huge wrestler, he wants to impress people with the gifts that he gives. However, when the gift isn’t well received, he learns a lesson about how monetary presents aren’t always the best!

All of those December 25ths helped shape The Rock become the man he is today or should I say 2032? And shapes why this series is so enjoyable!

Why didn’t George Lopez announce the Golden Globe nominations?
December 13th, 2022 under George Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

George Lopez was supposed to announce who was nominated for a Golden Globe yesterday with his daughter and Lopez vs Lopez co-star Mayan Lopez. However, Selenis Leyva, their co-star, was filling in for him.

So where was the funny man? “And the Covid goes too…….George Lopez! 😩😷,” he wrote. “Unfortunately I tested positive, so I’m unable to announce the Golden Globe Nominees. I wish MAYAN and SELENIS the best of luck….. Have fun!!”

Hopefully, he will be better soon. And don’t forget to watch this Friday’s episode of the sitcom at 8p on NBC because his current cast gets to meet the one from The George Lopez Show!

Lopez vs Lopez picked up for a full season

It is not going to be George Lopez vs NBC because NBC picked up his sitcom Lopez vs Lopez, which also stars his daughter, Mayan, for a full season.

The decision makes sense because the network says, “it has the strongest English-dominant Hispanic index among the major four broadcast networks.”

We need sitcoms with more people of color, and I think this hilarious show could be the one to make the networks think about changing things up.

And for fans of The George Lopez show. You will be able to see casts from both shows collide on the December 16th Christmas episode.

Just another reason to watch it tonight at 8p. And make sure to watch Young Rock at 8:30p to see if he covers his and my college years.

Christmas is coming early for fans of The George Lopez Show. That is because, on December 16th, George Lopez is staging a reunion of his old sitcom on his new NBC one Lopez vs Lopez.

Constance Marie, Valente Rodriguez, Luis Armand Garcia, and Belita Moreno are all going to guest star on a Christmas-themed episode.

We don’t know what they will be doing on the series, but who cares. It is nice to see Lopez’s TV families collide in one episode.

Hopefully, we will be seeing more of them in the future.
