Tonight’s episode of The Strain on FX at 10p is the best one yet, and they have all been really good.
Eph (Corey Stoll), The Jew (David Bradley), Nora (MÃa Maestro) and Jim (Sean Astin) have figured out how to kill the Vampires at night and that way is UV lights. Where to find them? They go to a medical supplies store, but they have already closed. Since this is dire times, they break in. While they are there, they run into The Exterminator (Kevin Durand). He has the same idea as them and he’s already taken all of the UV lights. After some negotiation, he decides to give them six.
When they are done, they decide to stock up on some food at a gas station. Sadly, for them the Vampires have shown up and they are there for them. Now the five of them along with the Hacker are going to try to get out of there alive. Not all of them will. That’s right, someone will die in this real nail biter of an episode.

Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer are funny Partners in law! |
August 4th, 2014 under FX, Martin Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

Martin Lawrence and Kelsey Grammer are doing a sitcom together called Partners, so you know the comedy that debuts at 9p tonight on FX is going to be a riot. And you would be correct!
Allen Braddock (Grammer) is the type of lawyer, we all hate but we want to represent us. His father has just fired him the firm and a judge assigned him several pro bono cases as a punishment. The judge also instructs him to watch the next case, where a do-good lawyer is representing himself in a divorce case against his wife. Marcus Jackson’s (Lawrence) wife is about to take him for everything; and the judge doesn’t want that to happen to him so she gives him an extension. Braddock offers to help him out and reluctantly he agrees. What Braddock uncovers will save Jackson’s case and definitely not his marriage. It was also lead to partnership of two very different people whose only bond is their dislike of each other.
Yet somehow they will make it work. Especially in the episode that airs at 9:30p, where they will get married. To find out why they become Mr & Mr, you will have just have to tune in for this very funny episode that will have you saying they didn’t just do that and hell to the no while you laugh so hard you will cry.
Partners is fun comedy that will make you laugh a lot and what else do you need on a Monday night.

USA and FX take on infidelity tonight in two different ways |
July 17th, 2014 under FX, USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

Russ (Nat Faxon) and Lina (Judy Greer) have been Married for a while, and after 3 kids they are getting bored with each other. So tonight at 10p on FX, she tells him to have an affair to get it out of his system. Which is easier said than done. Each week, he will try to get it out of his system as she tries to ignore what’s happening. And yet through it all, they makes things work in their redefined marriage.
Then at 10:30p on FX we meet a couple who meets at a wedding on You’re The Worst. Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere) is thrown out of his ex-girlfriend’s wedding when he tells her what he thinks of her. While he is outside taking a drag, he meets Gretchen (Aya Cash) who’s the bride’s sister’s friend. The two of them go back to his place and have sex. Even though they both say they don’t want a relationship they keep meeting up for sex. Hey couples have started out in stranger ways, right?
Over at USA at 9p, we meet Rush. You know the USA show Royal Pains, well in ways this show is the opposite. Hank goes to help people who need help and it’s all on the up and up. Well, Rush (Tom Ellis) helps people who have something to hide. Like people who have been shot in suspicious ways or celebrities beat up their lovers. Even though Rush says you shouldn’t get involved emotionally, he still does. How will that effect him? We will have to tune in.
Then at 10p on USA it is time for a married couple who don’t get Satisfaction with each other. Neil (Matt Passmore) works a lot and doesn’t have time for his wife, Grace (Stephanie Szostak). One day when she meets a gigolo, she winds up having sex with him. Neil finds his phone after catching them and winds up keeping it. When the mobile rings, he picks it up. On the other line is a woman who is going through the same thing as his wife. So he goes and meets her and the two of them have sex. He realizes he can make money doing this, so he starts doing it as a side job. It’s all fun and games until he recognizes the number on the phone that’s calling him. How will his wife and him make this work? We shall see.

The Strain is scary excellent! |

It takes a lot for a show to blow me away these days and that is exactly what The Strain did as soon as started watching it. So you are going to want to make sure to check it out on FX tonight at 10p.
A plane arrives at JFK and no one gets off of it. In fact, there is not even a peep from anyone inside. So it is assumed it is a “dead plane”. Every government agency is called in and they all want to be the first one on board.
Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) from the CDC has the biggest one, so his partner Dr. Nora Martinez (MÃa Maestro) and him are the first ones to check out what is going on. When they get inside the plane, everyone is dead. Or so they think. As Dr Martinez is in the cockpit, the pilot suddenly wakes and so do 3 of the other passengers. Why did these four survive and what killed the others is a mystery. A mystery that they will have to solve. Something that won’t be easy because it is unlike anything they have ever seen before.
But there is one man who has and his name is Professor Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley). He tells them that if they want to get rid of this mysterious virus, they need to destroy the bodies of everyone, including the survivors, who were on the plane. Of course they think he is crazy, until things he warns them about start to happen. Like all the dead bodies go missing, but no one knows where they went.
Where did they go? What is happening? Can it be stopped?
We will just have to tune into this thrilling horror masterpiece to find out.
Be prepared to scream, cover your eyes and jump out of your seat several times during each episode. I know I did that in the first four episodes I saw and I loved each one more than the one that airs before it.
Who knew summer TV could be so hot, and this summer is scorcher when it comes to television thanks to shows like The Strain.

Perception and Rizzoli & Isles return while Fargo goes bye bye |
June 17th, 2014 under FX, TNT/TBS/TCM. [ Comments: none ]
|
Rizzoli & Isles is back on TNT at 9p tonight with a case that is very close to Rizzoli’s (Angie Harmon) heart, or should I say stomach. That’s because she looks into a case of a murdered woman and while at the crime she notices the woman’s baby’s stroller is hidden in the bushes. But where is the baby? Now, she must find that baby before it is too late. And during the whole time, she’s keep her pregnancy a secret from everyone but Isles (Sasha Alexander). Will she be able to keep a secret? You just have to tune in to find out.
And the final minutes of the show deal with Lee Thompson Young’s death. Next week’s episode is a tribute to him, so get the tissues ready because it is an emotional goodbye.
Then at 10p Perception is back on TNT tonight and Dr. Daniel J. Pierce (Eric McCormack) is in Paris. His life is better than ever, until someone from the FBI there approaches him about getting something from a Chinese doctor. Everything goes as planned, but once he drops the item off he finds himself in trouble. Everything he thought he was happening wasn’t. So is his schizophrenia getting the better of him or is he really in trouble? You just have to tune in this beautifully shot surprising episode to find out.
Also at 10p, Fargo concludes its run at FX. I can review the episode, but I might spoil it for you. And I don’t want to end up like a lot of the characters from the show in the episode. That’s because there is more than one death in the finale. How many? You just have to tune into this chilling episode to find out who…
