Monarch is the first show to be cancelled
December 8th, 2022 under Fox, Susan Sarandon, Trace Adkins. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbTfp5fSd9c

It is December, and we just learned what is the first broadcast scripted show that won’t be back for another season on Fox. That title goes to Monarch.

Never heard of it? It was a Country Music Soap Opera that starred Trace Adkins and Susan Sarandon. Well, they lied about the latter because they killed her off in the first episode. Not that that was a bad thing. But they kept pushing that she was starring in the series.

When it comes to the show, I tried watching it, but after three episodes, I stopped. I just couldn’t do it anymore, and I have low standards. Since it is all about me, that is why it won’t be back. Not that it did terribly in the ratings.

Did you know that Duncanville was airing its third season on Fox? You didn’t? You are not alone.

Therefore today, the network pulled the plug on the animated series, and the six remaining episodes will stream on Hulu later this year, according to Deadline.

The show was created by Amy Poehler, who starred in the show with Ty Burrell.

Are you going to miss it?

UPDATE: The CW cancelled the Nancy Drew spinoff, Tom Swift, after one season.

Fox finally announces its Fall schedule
June 6th, 2022 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eywJu5RiDk0

Normally, networks release their Fall schedules during the Upfronts. However, Fox went into the day without confirmed renewals of 9-1-1 and The Resident. The network was able to finalize the deal right before the presentation, but they were not prepared to release their lineup at that time.

Now, almost a month later, Fox finally let us know when their shows will air. I am OK with almost all of it. But I just wish they would’ve bumped their live-action “comedies” to midseason and put Fantasy Island on after Hell’s Kitchen. I have been waiting too long for new episodes, and it is always all about me.

Fox finalizes deals with 9-1-1 and The Resident to come back for season 6!
May 16th, 2022 under Fox, Ryan Murphy. [ Comments: none ]

Fox woke up this morning with two of their biggest show’s futures in flux, and by lunch, everything was resolved.

The network was able to work out deals to bring back 9-1-1 and The Resident for their sixth seasons.

Because of this last-minute arrangement, they were not able to announce their fall lineup at the Upfronts. I am sure that will be coming soon.

Good thing Fox was able to make it happen. If they didn’t, then we would’ve called 9-1-1 and been taken to Chastain Memorial to deal with our grief.
