Fox is less than a week from announcing their fall lineup and yesterday we learned that none of the bubble shows are going to be on their schedule. The network cancelled Human Target, Breaking In, The Chicago Code, Traffic Light and Lie to Me according to The Futon Critic.
Of all the cancelled shows the only I watched was Breaking In and I am sad to see it go. Please stay tuned to Fox after American Idol tonight at 930p and watch this hysterical comedy. Maybe if enough of us watch it another network will consider picking up the show. I honestly think it would do better on cable because they can do things their that they can’t do on broadcast.
Tonight at 930p on Fox’s Breaking In, Contra Security has a copy of Goonies 2 in their possession and they need to protect it from all the geeks at Comic-Con that are dying to get the greasy little hands on it.
So why did they choose Goonies 2 over all the other movies in Geekdom? Here is what show creator Adam F Goldberg told us during a conference call last week, “Goonies is the reason I became a writer. You know, that was the movie from my childhood I saw a trillion times, know every line. And when we were doing this episode, which is about you know a movie being stolen. It was roughly based when – off of when Wolverine got stolen and went online. We thought, piracy was a cool kind of thing for the group to take on. The studios were really hesitant. We tried to get Green Lantern and a bunch of movies coming out. But I think understandably, the subject matter of a moving being stolen and going on line was a little iffy for them. So I thought well, what’s the one movie that I feel like should be made and it’s not in current active development? And that was Goonies 2 for me. So it really became a way for me to have Goonies kind of play out to the group as this whole adventure happens for them.” We have all grown up with Goonies, so I am sure this episode is going to be Good Enough for Cyndi Lauper and all of us!!!
For those of you who are missing out on this witty comedy, you missed how Cash joined Contra Security. He did so when he was caught stalking William Shatner, so I had to know if Alphonso McAuley, who plays him, will be stalking anyone at the geek festival. So who will that unlucky celebrity be? Well Goldberg told us he was going to go after one celeb, but things didn’t work out in the final script. So here is what would’ve happened had it happened, “In our first draft, we had a whole runner where he was stalking Gil Gerard. And Gil Gerard was ultimately his alibi when Cash was accused of stealing the movie. So that kind of unfortunately fell out. I really wanted to focus on the character story and not make it about Gil Gerard as much.So – it’s so funny that you asked that question because I was defiantly there in many drafts, but ultimately kind of opted for having it be a little bit more about the character and not so much about having him stalk a Sci-Fi guy. I just wanted to meet Gil Gerard. That’s what it was.” He then added how it would’ve ended, “And then Gil Gerard gave Cash an autograph that said, ‘Go away. Gil Gerard.†That’s what the head shot said.'” Too bad that won’t be in the episode, but plenty of other obscure references will be. So watch it live and DVR it too because you are going to watch it few times to make sure you get them all. I know I have done that with every episode so far!!!
You know the saying that third time is a charm, well that is what Breaking In is for Christian Slater because he finally has a show that will make it to a second season.
Breaking In premieres on Fox tonight at 9:30 and you are not going to want to miss this hysterical show. Cameron (Bret Harrison) is a college student in his late 20s who is one of the best hackers in the world. When Contra Security is recruited by the college to find out who has been hacking their system they wind up recruiting him for their team.
Contra Security is not your normal security company. They are not hired to protect you, they are brought in to see if your security systems really work. The staff goes in and attempts to break in to some of the so-called safest places out there.
Contra Security is run by Oz (Slater) and he knows everything about employees because he is watching them all the time…and when I say all the time. Let’s say you will never have a private talk at the watercooler again at your office. Slater plays him so straight and that is why is perfect for the role.
Cash is the office prankster who was recruited after he wouldn’t stop stalking a famous star. You will never guess who? Even though Cash likes to play some really good jokes, he is even better at coming up with gadgets to save the day.
Melanie (Odette Annable) is the company’s safe cracker and Cameron wants to the key to her heart, but that already is taken by her boyfriend played by Michael Rosenbaum. Will the hacker be able to break that code as well as he can any website?
The cast is rounded out by the office douche played by Trevor Moore, who gets an eye raising makeover in the second episode. And Creepy Carol played by Jennifer Irwin, who is only getting mentioned because I loved her on Still Standing.
But I what I really love is Breaking In, that is not your ordinary office comedy…it is so good you will want to work there. So tune into Fox tonight and every Wednesday at 930 for a show that cracks your Hump Day safe shows! Seriously this show is addictive as when you try to open lock and you forgot the combination!!!
Tonight on Fox at 9p Mobbed creates one of the biggest flash mobs for a very special moment and you are not going to want miss a single minute of this show that will leave crying happy tears.
Justin wants to propose to his girlfriend of three years and he wants to make it special for Nikki. So he goes to Fox and he asks them to help and they agree by gathering over 1,000 people to take part in a flash mob at the Americana.
The first half hour is Howie Mandel and So You Think You Can Dance’s Tabitha and Napoleon preparing for the big night. Howie has ideas what he wants to happen and some work and one might blow the whole thing. But one of his biggest ideas makes the proposal extra special, but you will have to watch Fox at 9p to find out how.
I admit I am a sucker for proposals and flash mobs, and this show exceeded my expectations. Once the event begins to happen, I found myself crying along with Nikki and it didn’t stop until the credits roll.
I really hope this show is back for more because we need more happy shows like this one on TV!
TGIFringe!!! Tonight on a compelling episode of Fringe Olivialternate is kidnapped and her life and her baby’s are put in danger because of what her kidnappers don’t know about her. What they are unaware of is she a carrier of something that will kill either her baby or her or both of them if she delivers the child, just like it killed her sister and her daughter in the alternate world. Will her team be able to find her before it is too late and save her and Walternate’s grandchild? Tune into Fox at 9p for an episode that will make you so freaking glad that the show was picked up for another season because it sets up so much of the future of the show.
