How Clea DuVall’s relationship with her cat lead to her creating HouseBroken

Tonight at 9p on Fox, get ready for the purrfect show HouseBroken that is about a bunch of arfdorable animals in therapy.

Let’s be honest, if you have a pet, you have thought about sending them to therapy to understand what is going on in their mind. We are not alone; Clea DuVall had the same idea when she was working on Veep with Executive Producers Gabrielle Allan and Jennifer Crittenden.

“I have a cat who I have a very complicated relationship with, who just seems like permanently dissatisfied. I wanted more than anything to be able to go to a counselor together so she could tell me what needs I wasn’t meeting so I could finally make her happy,” DuVall said at the Fox Summer Press Day. “And then I started thinking about that would be such a great idea for a show, getting into what animals’ interior lives are really like.”

Once she was ready, she pitched it to Allan and Crittenden, and the rest is Hollywood history.

Tonight, you will see, or should I say hear, DuVall give animals the voices they need. However, they will sound like her, Will Forte, Lisa Kudrow, Tony Hale, Nat Faxon, and Sam Richardson.

Fox is adding another Gordon Ramsay show and more next season
May 17th, 2021 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Ursula Coyote/FOX

CBS is all about Chuck Lorre, NCIS, and FBI. NBC is all Dick Wolf, all the time. ABC loves their Shonda Rhimes. The CW flies with DC Universe. Then there is FOX; they are all 9-1-1 and Gordon Ramsay. The latter is getting a new show on the network because they don’t have enough of him. Something you really cannot get enough of. Although, Next Level sounds next level good.

Since they will have Football and Wrestling on Thursday and Friday, that means they will only have four nights of scripted and unscripted television in the Fall. 9-1-1 will be back in September, while 9-1-1: Lonestar will be held for midseason. The Resident and Masked Singer will join 9-1-1 along with three other new shows. Sundays will remain animated because if it ain’t broke, then don’t cancel Family Guy again.

MONDAY
8:00-9:00 PM 9-1-1
9:00-10:00 PM THE BIG LEAP (new series)

TUESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM THE RESIDENT
9:00-10:00 PM OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (new series)

WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:00 PM THE MASKED SINGER
9:00-10:00 PM ALTER EGO (new series)

SUNDAY
8:00-8:30 PM THE SIMPSONS
8:30-9:00 PM THE GREAT NORTH
9:00-9:30 PM BOB’S BURGERS
9:30-10:00 PM FAMILY GUY

April 27th, 2021 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox is bringing back Fantasy Island on August 10th. Today, they announced who will be playing Mr. Roarke, and it is Rosalyn Sanchez.

According to Fox, Elena Roarke, a descendant of Mr. Roarke, will “set aside her own ambitions, and even the love of her life, to uphold her family’s legacy. Sophisticated, insightful and always charming, Elena’s calm exterior masks the challenges of the responsibilities she has assumed as steward of this mysterious island.”

Sanchez will be joined by Kiara Barnes as Ruby Okoro, a woman with a terminal illness who gets a different fate on the Island. They will share the island John Gabriel Rodriquez as Javier; he is the pilot and the answer to all of their problems.

If you have never seen the original series, you can stream all of the seasons for both the original show and the remake on Tubi TV starting this Friday.

Fox tells Bless the Harts to bless their hearts
April 2nd, 2021 under Fox. [ Comments: none ]

Fox has been building up their animation slate over the last year. However, today they decided to cancel one of their show. According to Variety, Bless the Harts will not be back for a third season.

The show starred Kristin Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, Ike Barinholtz, and Kumail Nanjiani, and it was produced by Oscar winners Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Personally, I was surprised they brought it back for a second season because it was not doing that well in the ratings during their first.

Are you sad that it was given the ax?
