While Revenge didn’t last forever, Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman’s marriage seems to be. The television couple turned a real life one welcomed their second baby last month.
The actress wrote, “✨Rio Rose ✨ 3-12-2024 Welcome to the world baby girl. We love you so much ❤️”
Rio Rose joins sister, Iris, 2, in the Bowman household.
The Bowmans celebrated their fifth anniversary in December.
Shortly before The Resident came back this season, we found out that Emily VanCamp would not be returning to the show. On yesterday’s phenomenal episode, we learned how the medical drama said goodbye to her character.
VanCamp explained to Deadline that she did not leave the show because of bad blood. In fact, she loved working on the series.
So why did she leave? She told the site, “I spent so many years on network television, but then suddenly priorities shifted. I think there comes a moment in every woman’s life—in every person’s life—where it becomes less about work and more about family, and that’s what happened while I was making the show. Doing that many episodes in a different city and then you add Covid to that, most of us couldn’t see our families for almost a year. It really solidified for me that family is where my heart is at the moment.”
Back in August, she welcomed her first child with her husband, Josh Bowman. So being away from her family in Canada to film in Atlanta was not something she wanted to do. Therefore, after many years of putting acting first with Everwood, Brothers & Sisters, Revenge, and The Resident, she decided to put family first. Good for her.
Back to her baby, Iris, I wonder if the producers played Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris as they wheeled Nic to operating room to donate her organs as a tribute to her daughter?
When it comes to that scene, VanCamp was not there. That, as she said, was “movie magic.”
Before Emily VanCamp was marrying for Revenge, she was going to grow up and marry the President of the United States in Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. She looks the same now as she did when she was 13 in that 2000 telemovie.
Last week, Emily VanCamp revealed that she is a first-time mom with her husband, Josh Bowman.
Today, we learned that she is not returning to The Resident for its fifth season.
According to Deadline, she asked to be released from the show as a series regular. She might return as a guest star later on, but nothing is set.
The site says that her storyline will be wrapped up early on this season. The above promo might give us a hint how.
This is the fourth series that she was not part of its fifth season, Everwood and Revenge were cancelled, and she left Brothers and Sisters at the end of the fourth one. So from here on out, she should be known as four and out.
Emily VanCamp has been keeping a secret, and the producers of The Resident helped her keep it. However, you are not going to want to get revenge on them for hiding her pregnancy by writing her real life one into the Fox medical drama.
The actress shared the happy news by writing, “Welcome to the world our sweet little Iris 💐 Our hearts are full 💗.”
This is she and Josh Bowman’s first child. The couple played one on Revenge, became one in 2011, and got married in 2018. Congrats to the two. Hopefully, things will turn out better for them than the fate their characters got on the show they met on.
