Eli Roth is a Basterd!!!
May 4th, 2009 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

The Quentin Tarantino Archives
Out of all the ways I would describe Eli Roth, Basterd is not one of them. But in this context I will say that Eli Roth is one very sexy Basterd!!! Dang how good does he look in the latest poster to be released from the Inglourious Basterds, XYZ is a Basterd campaign! I so can’t wait to see him as Sgt. Donny Donowitz aka The Bear Jew, the one who uses his baseball bat to get the scalps that Brad Pitt wants!!! Plus the way he described the propaganda movie Pride’s Nation, that he directed in Inglourious Basterds to MTV Movies Blog, has me for the first time wishing the summer was already over so I can see this movie already!
Why is The Weinstein Company teasing me like this and making me wait until August 21st to see this movie! Dang them and thank you!

Eli Roth talks about Inglourious Basterds!
April 23rd, 2009 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

For the first time since he accepted the role of Donnie Donowitz aka The Bear Jew in Inglourious Basterds, Eli Roth did an on-camera interview with MTV.com about the Quentin Tarantino movie! In the interview he talks about working with Brad Pitt and how they both stayed in character, which is not a character I would want to stay in. He also describes why The Bear Jew kills Nazis by swinging bats at their heads and decapitating them as compared to scalping them like Brad Pitt’s character asked. He then talked about how he got the directing duties (besides the acting one) for Pride of the Nation from his friend with the hottie Daniel Bruel. From the way he describe the propaganda film that he directed with his brother Gabe, I can’t wait to see it. I also can’t wait to see him and Inglourious Basterds on August 21st!

Eli Roth is turning his Thanksgiving trailer into a movie!!!
April 15th, 2009 under Eli Roth. [ Comments: none ]

Eli Roth talked to MTV Movies Blog about his upcoming behind-the-camera movies that he has coming up and he announced that he is turning his Grindhouse trailer Thanksgiving into a movie! Thanksgiving was one of the only two things I liked (the other was the car ax scenes one for each of their gruesome deaths) in the Grindhouse movie. I am so freaking excited to see what he cooks up for it especially since this is how he described it:

“the sickest, bloodiest, most violent slasher movie,” he said of the “Thanksgiving” flick inspired by the holiday-themed horror classics of the ‘80s. “I want to make the highest body count slasher film I can.”

How bloody awesome does that sound! I love a good slasher film and I know after Cabin Fever, Eli will make it a cut above the rest!
As you can see in the first sentence I said movies and that wasn’t a typo! He added that he is preparing to film his first big budget film this fall.

“I don’t want to give away the title yet, because I have to make sure I own it 100%, but it’s going to be something that is really fun with lots of mass destruction,” he said. “I wanted to do something along the lines of ‘Transformers’ or ‘Cloverfield’ that was a little more science fiction-based, and with lots of chaos and mass destruction.”
“I don’t want to say what [the monster is] yet,” Roth added. “Once it gets set up, I will let everyone know. It is not aliens or robots or a virus – it’s a little more grounded. But when people hear it they are going to be like ‘That is going to be insane!’.”
“The plan is this: I want to do a huge budget movie, but tack on three weeks to the end of it and shoot ‘Thanksgiving’,” he revealed. “I want to do an $80 million dollar movie, and then schedule three weeks at the end to quickly shoot a $5 million dollar movie.”

He is currently finishing up the script for that movie that he put on pause so he could do another movie in front of the camera called Inglourious Basterds. And on that note, here are some new scenes from IB that were too firey hot for American Idol yesterday when Quentin Tarantino was a guest mentor! And this is what Eli Roth blogged on his MySpace about them!

This was what was originally cut to air on “American Idol.” And yes, that’s me at the end, and that roaring inferno was real. No CGI bullsh!t. Omar and I almost got incinerated!

That inferno looks absolutely amazing, luckily he got out of there OK! I am so excited for IB that is coming out on August 21st, but you already know that!

The Inglourious Basterds do Vanity Fair and Cannes!!!
April 2nd, 2009 under Brangelina, Eli Roth. [ Comments: 2 ]

Vanity Fair went all the way to Germany to capture the cast of the upcoming WWII epic movie Inglourious Basterds in these gorgeous photos. Seriously how sexy, authoritative and amazing do Eli Roth, Brad Pitt and Daniel Bruel all look in their uniforms in that group photo! The magazine that is out now also has some of the script to go with the pictures!
Last night Variety broke the news that not only will Inglourious Basterds premiere at Cannes next month, it is also competing for the Palme d'Or. If Quentin Tarantino wins for the award then it will be his second one because the first was for Pulp Fiction! Fingers crossed the film wins!
I am so jealous that the select few people who actually get to go to Cannes will see the movie 3 months before me on August 21st!

This is your brain on Inglourious Basterds
February 27th, 2009 under Brangelina, Cool Technology, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: 1 ]

MindSign Neuromarketing is a company that measures people’s brain activity to see the effectiveness of consumer marketing. “At MindSign Neuromarketing they use our brain response technology to provide our clients in the advertising, entertainment, political, and software industries with data revealing what their target consumer is thinking while using their product, and seeing their ads.”
The company posted someone’s reaction to the much anticipated Inglourious Basterds’ trailer and as you can see by their reaction of the axial, sagittal, and coronal planes that person is as excited as I am for Quentin Tarantino’s WWII epic movie starring Brad Pitt and Eli Roth. Seriously how f*cking cool is that technology!
On the Final Destination 2 DVD, one of the special features is they measured a person’s brain activity as they watched the death scenes in the movie to see if they really scared the crap out of people and it did! I thought that feature was one of the coolest things I ever saw on DVD, so I think it is really neat that MindSign Neuromarketing is using that technology to measure consumers’ reactions to trailers and TV shows.
If you check out MindSign Neuromarketing’s YouTube Channel you can so other people’s reaction to other trailers and TV spots and none them were as excited at the different videos as they were for Inglourious Basterds!
BTW both Inglourious Basterds and Final Destination: Death Trip 3D are coming out on August 21st and that is too much excitement for my brain!!! My brain map would be full of color if they measured it about August 21st!!!
