After what seems like forever, Ed Sheeran is finally back with new music. The singer released two new songs today. I was hoping that one of them would be a ballad that highlights his velvety voice, but instead Shape of You and Castle on the Hill are Pop. I am not complaining because I can’t stop listening to them, I just wanted something smoother like him.
How do you like the shape of his new tunes?
It has been 2 and half years since Ed Sheeran released a new studio album and the wait is going to come to an end this Friday. That’s because the singer who is known for Thinking Out Loud, silently announced on Social Media today that he has some new tunes coming out on the 6th.
I don’t know where you will be at the end of the week, but I know I will be in front of my computer downloading all of his new tracks and listening to them over and over and over again.
Even though Ed Sheeran’s Photograph has been out for 2 years, the people who wrote Matt Cardle’s Amazing back in 2009 are suing him now for $20 million because they say the red head’s song sounds a lot like their tune. Eire Creative put both songs together in a video and you can hear the similarities.
If you were the Judge, then how would you rule?
Talking about judging, don’t judge Matt Cardle. He took to Twitter and said, “Please read news articles closely. This is not my lawsuit. I think @edsheeran is a genius & 100% deserves all his success 🙏🏽❤️ X.”
Back to that Amazing Photograph, I wonder if the lawsuit will wind up the same way it did for Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby and Queen and David Bowie’s Under Pressure. I am fan of both songs and it does take me a few beats until I can tell the difference between the two hits from the last century. To me their lawsuit was much stronger than the one that Marvin Gaye’s family had over Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines. We know which case got a much higher verdict (the latter), it will be interesting to see if Amazing Photograph will top that one.
People would pay a lot of money to hear Ed Sheeran sing in a very small club, but would they pay $2 for an Ed Sheeran peep show in a seedy looking place with a creepy looking guy offering the tickets? That is what Hamish & Andy decided to find out. After 2 hours of no one biting and after some convincing, they finally got a couple to nervously enter the dark and scary looking place. Then when the curtain came up, they got a shock of a lifetime and couldn’t believe what they were seeing and hearing. Then after :30 seconds the curtain went down and they were left with a memory that they won’t soon forget. After that couple, several other people paid the $2 and enjoyed a private show by one of today’s biggest artists.
And I am so jealous of all of them. I would’ve paid $3 to hear a whole song. Heck, I’d even gone up to $5. Would you have paid the money if you were given that same offer?
Ed Sheeran is in Orlando, land of the ’90s boy bands. While he was there he met up with two of their relics. The singer shared a photograph of himself posing with Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough and *NSYNCer Joey Fatone and said, “We are starting a new band.” Could you only imagine if he did? Throw in a New Kid on the Block and the supergroup will break the internet! I’d buy their album without hearing anything from it.
