Are you sitting down? Can you believe it has been 25 years since we fell in love with Ever After? Well, it has been. And today, Drew Barrymore reunited with her stepsisters, Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds, from the Cinderella retelling on her talk show.
Along with reuniting, they shared behind-the-scenes secrets. For example, on day three of filming, Lynskey and Dodds went into the nearby cornfield and took topless photos of each other. That is the stuff taboo porn is all about!
But that is not all. Barrymore shared that she used her grandfather John Barrymore’s partying with Angelica Huston’s father, John Huston, to get the legendary actress to play her Evil Stepmother in the movie. Whatever worked because the casting was brilliant.
Not only was her casting perfect, as was Dougray Scott as Prince Henry. He almost didn’t get the part because he had a bad first audition, but Drew went to bat for him. And the rest is a fairy tale come true.
Back to the actresses. It truly is like they stepped into a time machine because they look exactly the same as they did a quarter of a century.
And now I am off to watch Ever After again for the umpteenth time. It is the perfect story of true love.
Adam Sandler has five leading ladies in his life. There is his wife, Jackie, his two daughters, Sadie and Sunny, Drew Barrymore, and Jennifer Aniston.
However, he only works with the latter two on the big screen. But he has never worked with them together.
Today when Sandler and Aniston were on The Drew Barrymore show to promote Murder Mystery 2, the three of them discussed which movie they could make together. They decided on doing a remake of Three’s Company with Sandler as Jack, Barrymore as Janet, and Aniston as Chrissy Snow.
Personally, I think the girls should switch up the roles because Aniston is more of a Janet.
Would you see the three of them if they did that movie? Of course, I would if were a Razzie nom, and I had to watch it to make my choice for Worst Film, Worst Remake, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Remake, Worst Trio, and so on. And I am sure it would sweep the Razzies that year.
The hosts from The Talk are on The Drew Barrymore Show today, and Jerry O’Connell left Drew Barrymore speechless.
How did the actor do that? He gave his old friend a lap dance. It was something he learned how to do when he was a dancer with Magic Mike Live for one night only. And she liked it.
But not as much as I liked the story he told about the first time they met. Back when O’Connell first moved to LA, he pulled into the same gas station as Barrymore. He wasn’t going to say anything to her because we don’t talk to actors we see out in the wild here. However, she asked him if he was an actor. He told her yes, and that he just move to LA. So she gave him her phone number and told him to call her if he needed anything. So he did call her, and they became friends.
I love hearing stories like that. Especially when it is about two of the nicest people you will meet in Hollywood. Even though this interview happened in NYC!
Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore starred in the movie Music and Lyrics together, and they sang a duet. That should sound like music to your ears, but Grant says it wasn’t. During a recent interview with Wired’s Web’s Most Searched, he said her “singing is just horrendous. I mean, I’ve heard dogs bark better than she sings.”
How did Barrymore react to him saying that? First, she recorded a video of herself singing their song, Way Back Into Love. Then, she talked about it on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday.
“If you know Hugh, that is his way of loving you,” the actress said. “You think you are getting this charming movie star, and what you get is grumpy Hugh. And then you fall in love with grumpy Hugh. When he says that, I’m telling you like he is being absolutely funny. He doesn’t mean one negative thing about it.”
In other words, he is British. And we are just not used to it. We just think he is the man he plays in all of those Rom-Coms. But he isn’t.
Barrymore ended her thoughts about her co-star with, “He is a hilarious, good human being.” And if she is saying that, she means it. I think.
