Teri Hatcher was diagnosed with Swine Flu and has put the cast and crew of Desperate Housewives on high alert for H1N1. According to TV Guide Magazine the show is rescheduling her scenes until she is well enough to return and her diagnosis couldn’t have come at a worse time because DH was filming their Christmas Party episode. Why would her sickness really seem to matter if it is just a party episode? Well because a small commuter plane is going to crash into Wisteria Lane while they are having that party and at least one fan favorite will perish.
Am I the only one kind of hoping her Swine Flu will shut down production long enough that they have to scrap the episode, because destroying Wisteria Lane again is such a stupid storyline. Marc Cherry is living up to the first word of the title of his show that used to be a hit with the plane crash story arc.
UPDATE: Her rep is told TV Guide Magazine that she doesn’t have Swine Flu and that production hasn’t been changed because she is sick. Dang that stupid plane crash is going to happen.
UPDATE 2: According to Variety ABC is sticking with Marc Cherry until 2013 which means that Desperate Housewives could stay until then too. Seriously they are desperate for enjoyable scripts and watchable storylines now, how are they going to maintain it for another 4 years? Especially since Marc Cherry worked on the final season of Golden Girls and that show started repeating itself, are they going to continue to that on DH until then. I mean they have already started to repeat themselves are they going to repeat 3 or 4 more times before the show is finally put out of its misery? Plus how are the actresses going to hold up until then? There is no eye candy on the show as it is (since they got rid of Gale Harold) what are they going to do for that until 2013? At this rate the cast from Degrassi will have to move to Wisteria Lane because they will be as old as the DH cast when they first started. Was that too mean?

Desperate Housewives is planning a small plane crash on Wisteria Lane for November Sweeps! At first Marc Cherry denied anyone would die, but now according to Michael Ausiello a few people including a fan favorite will die in that crash! Ausiello made a picture of who he thinks it might be, but I am still trying to figure out if there are any fan favorites left? I am at the point if it were jet liner took down the street, it wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
At this point I have no idea who they could be killing off, who do you think it will/want it to be? I wonder if they could do a reversal on Drea’s full season contract because that storyline hasn’t gone anywhere and I don’t think anyone would miss that family if they were gone?
Desperate Housewives is back tonight on ABC at 9p and after watching the season premiere I am wondering why I am still watching this show. The show wastes no time to tell us who the bride is, but we have to wait until the end of the episode for the wedding. Lynette hates being pregnant, so that will be a boring storyline that will continue throughout the season. Is anyone shocked she doesn’t want to be pregnant since she spent the last 5 seasons complaining about being mom? Gabby hates taking care of Carlos’ niece and the feeling is mutual. The addition of the niece was so not needed. Then there is the new family talking about waste, it feels like the Alfre Woodward’s useless storyline from a few years ago all over again. Oh I forgot Bree because they made her forgettable and she is one of the better characters on the show. It looks like the episode ends in a murder, and that actually has me wanting to watch next week’s episode but not sure how much longer I can stick with this show because it has gotten so unwatchable.
So you know on Project Runways when the designer gets immunity and they are like why should I work so hard on the next challenge? Well that is how it feels like Marc Cherry is treating the show because he was renewed for at least two more years. Why make the show good, it is not like ABC is going to cancel me.
On Friday I posted an exclusive picture of Katherine in a wedding dress, asking "Is this the bride?" that we saw in the final seconds of the Desperate Housewives' season finale. Today the mystery deepens as we see both Katherine and Susan are in wedding dresses. Teri Hatcher seems to match the bride that was in that scene, but does that mean it is her? Because then why are we seeing Dana Delaney also dressed in wedding gown? Is one dreaming they are marrying Mike Delfino while the other actually is? Is there a second wedding? Will one of them go crazy and crash the other's wedding dressed in all white? Is Mike marrying one of them, but is picturing himself marrying the other? Or maybe Susan is marrying Jackson and picturing herself marrying Mike, who is really is really marrying Katherine? A huge sale on wedding dresses at Wistera Lane Bridals? Who knows anymore? After the Desperate Housewives cliffhanger where we saw what looked like Edie hanging herself, the one thing we learned for certain is that nothing really seems as it appears before the credits roll in those finals seconds of a season finale…
But one thing we know for certain is we will have to wait until September 27th when the show comes back on ABC to find who is really the bride…if there is one that is…???
