’80s teen queens Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are filming Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and you so know that movie will be an instant cult classic when it airs on SyFy next year!!! Up until now we have only heard about it, and now thanks for the Electric Youth singer we are seeing the two of them together. Debbie Gibson Tweeted a picture of her rumored rival and her together and they looks so great in that photo. Seriously doesn’t the 39 year old blonde and the 38 year old red head look as good as they did when they first entered the charts back in 1987? In fact it looks as though the I Think We’re Alone Now singer has lost some weight without the help of Celebrity Fit Club. It is really evident in the photo Tiffany Tweeted with “3 real baby alligators! SOO FLIPPING CUTE!” Those 3 baby gators really are flipping cute, just no way you can get me to hold them like that.
Now that we have seen the two pop idols on the set of Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, I am even more excited. I really wish SyFy would push a rush on it and air this year as compared to next.
BTW SyFy has a cast a ’60s pop idol in the movie, The Monkees Micky Dolenz is joining in to fight the reptilians with the two ladies.
SyFy is making an ’80s teen boy’s wet dreams come true because they are doing a movie with Tiffany vs Debbie Gibson. Yes you read that right the I Think We’re Alone Now and the Electric Youth singers will battle it out in a SyFy movie. According to James Hibberd in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, “Gibson will play a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores, sending them into the Everglades, where they grow to mega sizes. Tiffany will play an overzealous park ranger who uses dangerous methods to save endangered alligators. In the script, the pair brawl at a party, then take matters outside into the swamp.” Sounds like a total classic just like Tiffany’s first SyFy movie Mega Piranha, too bad they won’t be back for this movie…or will they???
Hibberd added that casting was Tiffany’s idea, she had a meeting with them and said that she always wanted to do a movie with her rumored teen pop idol rival who really wasn’t one. So now they get to take that fake rivalry to a real movie.
Debbi Gibson and Tiffany released statements about the opportunity of working together in the SyFy movie that will air next year.
“I know that pop culture fanatics have been dying for Tiffany and me to collaborate for the past 24 years!” said Gibson in a statement. “What better way to do it than by battling each other in a campy romp through the Everglades?â€
“Only in my dreams have I been able to have a catfight with Debbie Gibson…until now!” Tiffany said. “This is soo MEGA cool!”
I can’t think of casting that Could’ve Been more beautiful than these two working together. And maybe if it is a success SyFy will do other movies with famous rivalries like Barry Williams and Danny Bonaduce, Heather Locklear and Denise Richards, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears and in the far future Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie!
UPDATE: Deborah Gibson Tweeted this Mega picture of her with a snake today that I am assuming is from set of the movie that is due to start filming this month. She also Tweeted, “Syfy rocks! I SO cannot wait to battle really large critters…..and my “rival” Tiffany! Ha!” And we can’t wait to see her battle “rival” Tiffany.
Tonight on SyFy at 9p Mega Piranha premieres and you are not going to want this mega awesome movie!
Ever since I was kid and my dad made me watch the original Piranha movie, I always make sure to watch movies about them because they are such evil f*ckers. So when I saw heard the title for the this week’s movie of the week on SyFy I had to get a review screener for it and it was better than I thought. I knew the movie was going to be mega good and because if Piranha are evil little f*ckers when they are small, what are they were going to be like when they are size of cars!
I knew this movie was going to be great when it starts off with two people devoured with in the first few minutes of the flick by the evil little f*ckers and I was already laughing. After their blood surfaces to the water, we watch as the US ambassador and his friends and their boat in Venezuela were all swallowed up by the little guys. Who would ever think that piranha could eat people and boat whole, so the world thinks it is a terrorist attack. Barry Williams aka Greg Brady is the Secretary of the US and he sends Paul Logan down to check out what happened. Once there Logan meets Tiffany who tells him she thinks it was hwe stolen experiment of piranha that grow twice their size every 36 hours and are invincible. Obviously no one believes her, but when they find a piece of the boat with teeth mark her story starts to have some validity. So Tiffany and Logan try to stop these the piranha before they get to big while trying not to be captured by the Venezuelan military who wants them all out of their country. Logan and Tiffany’s attempt to stop the piranha while they are still small fails and by the end of the first hour they are the size of cars and they destroy the village they were all in. The piranha fly into buildings and totally destroy them, while the successful ones eat everything and everyone in their site. When there is no one left to eat they start to swim north and head for Florida. Will Logan and Tiffany be able to stop them before they reach Miami or will they be swallowed up whole by the Mega Piranha? Tune into SyFy at 9p to find out.
Seriously Mega Piranha is mega fun and mega good! A good horror movie never takes it seriously and just has a lot of fun with the subject it is about. Everyone who worked on Mega Piranha had a lot of fun creating a bunch of piranha that can swallow up people whole and destroy whatever is in its path. There is a lot of bloodshed and destruction and that is also the sign of a great campy horror movie…that and one that leaves you laughing with enjoyment. Seriously check out Mega Piranha tonight on SyFy at 9p and create a drinking game that every time the piranha kill a person you have to drink! If you play that game you will be sh!tfaced by the end of it! That and you would have watched one of the best original movies that SyFy has ever created!!!
On Saturday night at 9p the mega awesome movie Mega Piranha is going to premiere on SyFy and let me tell you it is as awesome as it looks in that trailer!
Piranha’s are naturally evil little f*ckers, so imagine how freaking evil they are when they are a size of the elephant? They will eat anything in their path and nothing can stop them…well nothing but a building as you can see in that trailer. Not only does the movie star those awesome Mega Piranhas it also stars Tiffany and Barry Williams aka Greg Brady! What more do you need to grab the popcorn and watch this mega awesome movie on SyFy this Saturday at 9p? And come back here on Saturday for my review of this movie! I couldn’t wait until then to post that trailer because I seriously loved this movie and I know you will too!!!
