David Hasselhoff is to star in the next series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ for a record £200,000 fee. Bosses of the Channel 4 show have agreed to pay the former ‘Baywatch’ actor the most expensive salary in the programme’s history, in the hope that he will live up to expectations and wow viewers with his outrageous antics. It is not yet known who will be joining Hasselhoff in the Big Brother house, but 80s British pop star Adam Ant is strongly rumoured to be taking part. The 54-year-old actor has cancelled all other work commitments so he can appear on the show which starts in January next year.

David Hasselhoff was accused of being drunk today during a live television breakfast show. Viewers complained to GMTV claiming the Baywatch star slurred his words and seemed half-asleep on its show Entertainment Today. Appearing between 8.40am and 9.10am, the actor sat alongside Jenni Falconer and seemed to slur his words while making suggestive comments to the presenter. The 54-year-old — nicknamed the Hoff — looked confused and seemed to struggle to keep his eyes open. Hasselhoff, who is currently in the UK promoting his film Click, his single Jump In My Car, and his book Making Waves, appeared to find it difficult to pronounce the name of his Click co-star Adam Sandler, calling him "Adam Sanglier". During the live appearance, he also managed to get a link wrong as well as giving a stuttering performance miming his new single. A GMTV insider claimed they had received as many as 250 calls from viewers. The source said: "Those calls won’t all be registered as complaints because some of them won’t have actually complained — they might have just passed a comment on how Hasselhoff looked." A spokesman for GMTV said: "He was extremely tired because of his massive promotional tour which has been going on for three weeks now. "But he did everything we wanted him to do. His behaviour might not have been ‘dead-on’ but it was first thing in the morning. We do not believe he was drunk. There was no smell of alcohol." Hasselhoff has already been at the centre of controversy this year over alleged drink-related incidents. And in July he was banned from a British Airways flight after allegedly turning up drunk. He told staff he was upset about his divorce from his wife, Pamela, after 16 years. His publicist Max Clifford said: "David has so many projects on at the moment and has been busy for the last few weeks promoting his book, film and record in Europe and has also been travelling back to the US in order to see his children. "David took a sleeping pill at 7pm last night and another at 4am this morning and he was up at 6am to appear on GMTV. "It’s no surprise, with his schedule and the extensive travelling involved, that he is absolutely exhausted, as anyone would be."

David Hasselhoff lied to cops when he allegedly called 911 to report that his younger daughter committed suicide according to his estranged wife, Pamela Bach. And Bach tells TMZ Hasselhoff made the call out of pure revenge. TMZ first reported that police and paramedics responded to Hasselhoff’’s 911 call Sunday night. Multiple police sources told TMZ the former "Baywatch" star reported that his younger daughter was "cut" and it was a suicide attempt. Now Pamela Bach tells TMZ that her daughter never attempted suicide and that David knew it. Bach claims David used his daughter as a pawn, telling Bach, "You’re going down. I’m calling the police." Bach says her daughter was scratched by the family cat Sunday night at around 6 p.m. She says her daughter was crying uncontrollably, so she called David and suggested that it might be appropriate for the girl to see a psychologist on Monday. At that point Bach claims David began ranting that he would call the police and bring her down. Bach says at around 8 p.m. the police and paramedics arrived and said that David had called in a suicide attempt, so by law they had to take the girl to the hospital. She was released shortly after arriving there. Hasselhoff’s publicist Judy Katz tells TMZ that Hasselhoff became alarmed when his older daughter called to say her sister was bleeding. Hasselhoff denies telling 911 about a suicide attempt, but his publicist says the 911 operator may have interpreted it that way. Hasselhoff, who was getting ready to board a plane for a fim festival, left town without visiting his daughter. Bach says Hasselhoff deliberately concocted the story to make her look like a bad parent. Hasselhoff denies he even spoke with Bach Sunday night, and says the allegations are false.

Either way the two of them are going to f()ck her up for life. They need to fight amongst themselves and not use their kid as a bargaining chip.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that one of David Hasselhoff’s daughters tried to commit suicide Sunday night. It happened in the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles, at around 6:30 p.m. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ David call 911 from his home and reported that his 14-year-old daughter had "cut herself."’ David Hasselhoff and estranged wife Pamela Bach have been going through a bitter divorce and custody fight. Hasselhoff had been accused of brutalizing Pam, restraining orders were issued, but many of the issues seem to have been resolved. In court documents obtained by TMZ from December 2005, Pamela Bach alleged then that Hasselhoff "grabbed me and pushed me hard into a car." She added: "In the past, he has also broken my nose and called me ‘whore,’ ‘c**t,’ ‘bitch,’ ’slut’ and ‘drug addict’ in front of our children." Bach also said that Hasselhoff told her that "he was going to break through my security gate, drive his car through the house, beat the door down and go into the house and take my(sic) all of my jewelry and sell it." Hasselhoff has denied all the allegations. We’re told the LAPD responded and 14-year-old Hayley Hasselhoff was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition is not being disclosed. The Mental Evaluation Unit of LAPD is now handling the case.
