It’s a sad day in America, Craig Ferguson is leaving The Late Late Show
April 28th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson. [ Comments: none ]

Craig Ferguson announced tonight on his CBS late night show that he will be leaving The Late Late Show in December.
The news doesn’t come as surprise because his days were numbered as soon as David Letterman (who co-produces LLS) announced he was retiring. The Scot just never got the ratings nor any promotion, so I am sure CBS wanted a clean slate in late night so that they can build an audience with it. Something I don’t think Ferguson ever would’ve been able to do.
His show was unlike the others because he doesn’t have a band, his sidekick is a robot, he has a stable on the set for Secretariat, which is two men in a horse’s costume, and an array of real and fake characters that pop up out of the blue. Not only that, his monologue and interviews are not scripted and he has a segment where he answers your questions and responds to them in his own special way. His show was quirky and because of that he had a niche audience and less famous stars as guests.
So with all of that, I am not surprised that CBS and him are consciously uncoupling as he calls it. Personally, I hope he goes back to acting, something he is much better at and more suited for.
When it comes to who will replace him, please don’t be Chelsea Handler, please, please, please not her. I would love to see it be either Matthew Perry, JB Smoove, Jane Lynch, Nick Cannon (who told me a few weeks ago he isn’t interested in doing a talk show for a few more years) or Tracy Morgan. If CBS could break the must have a man named Jimmy host at 11:35a, then they can break their own Craigs rule for 12:35a. You know since they went from Craig Kilborn to Craig Ferguson, so maybe Craig Bierko is up for the job?
Seriously though, who do you want to host The Late Late Show? Are you going to miss Craig Ferguson?

UPDATE: Here is Craig Ferguson’s announcement on The Late Late Show tonight at 12:35a on CBS.

Is Chelsea Handler gunning for Craig Ferguson’s job?
April 16th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since both Chelsea Handler and David Letterman announced that they were giving up their talk shows, people have wondered if CBS would be hiring her for one of their two late night shows. Last week when Stephen Colbert got Letterman’s job at The Late Show, people started speculating that Handler would get The Late Late Show. Speculation hit an all time high when she Tweeted, a photo that was described as a “Business meeting,” with a CBS packet in her hand. CBS immediately denied that she was there to talk about doing a late night talk show there, but she remained silent. That is until today, when she Tweeted, “I have never had nor will have any desire to take a job someone else has already had. Speculation to the contrary is inaccurate. Godspeed?” So I guess we won’t be seeing her at CBS, at least for now.
CBS was quick to announce who would be replacing Letterman, and I wish they would be almost as quick and make announcement if Ferguson will or will not be staying on the Eye. His contract is up in a few months and we want to know if both sides will be re-signing each other. At least I want to know.

Even Jon Hamm says he wouldn’t have picked himself on that dating show!
April 8th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson, Jon Hamm. [ Comments: none ]

Last week the internets went crazy when someone unearthed a video of Jon Hamm on the dating show, The Big Date, back in 1995 and tonight Craig Ferguson asked him about it on The Late Late Show. The CBS late night asked him if he still gives foot massages and the mad man said, "Only if I can get the ball in the net afterward." His words, not mine. Then they got sidetracked, but Craig brought it back to the dating show and asked if she picked him. Just like a boy going through puberty, Hamm's voice cracked as he said, "Would you have picked me?" Both men agreed, they would now but back then not so much. Yeah, that '90s hair is as much of a turn off now as it was back then. So is one of the sexiest men on TV now upset he didn't get picked? He said he's not before adding, "Think how the world could have changed?" So true. If he thought it was hair that got him picked, then he might still have that hairstyle. If he still had that hairstyle, there is no way he would've landed the role of Don Draper. Because back in the '50s ad '60s, men weren't stupid enough to get that hairdo. So thank you Mary, for not picking Jon Hamm to go on date with almost 20 years ago. Us women who would, are sincerely grateful that you turned him down because it helped to make him the man he is today!

Craig Ferguson and Drew Carey switch hosting jobs!
March 18th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson. [ Comments: none ]

Long before Craig Ferguson was hosting The Late Late Show and Drew Carey was hosting The Price is Right, they both starred on a sitcom called The Drew Carey Show. Even though that show ended 10 years ago, the two men have remained friends. In fact, both of them tape there shows on the same lot a floor apart from each other. Thus, giving them the perfect opportunity to switch jobs for a day. So on April 1st (my birthday), Carey will stay up late to be a late night talk show host while Ferguson will wake up early to try being a game show host. What happens when they have a freaky Friday on a Tuesday, we will just have to tune into CBS to find out on April Fool’s Day.
Who knows maybe we will get more of a Drew Carey Show reunion than the one we got last night. Even though, I have to say, Mimi looks good with a tan.
BTW below is my favorite scene from The Drew Carey Show with Drew and Mr Wick!

When does Jane Lynch feel like sexual harassing someone?
March 18th, 2014 under Craig Ferguson, Glee, Jane Lynch. [ Comments: none ]

Jane Lynch was on The Late Late Show yesterday, and Craig Ferguson and her started talking about cursing. That some how led to her talking about one of the networks that she works at requiring her to take a sexual harassment class. She said as soon as she’s done, “I want to harass someone sexually. It’s all I can think about.” Then she added, “I’m inviting it, and I want to give it.” I don’t know about you, but I felt the same way when I took that class.
I am the type of person that they came up with those harassment (because they are not only about sexual harassment) classes for; so when my job requires it, I avoid it like the plague. This one place I worked at, I made sure to go to the last class. So that meant that all my co-workers went before me. Well whenever any of them got out, they said stuff that made me almost look sweet and innocent. So I never understood, why companies require it because it only makes you want to do what you are not supposed to do even more. Oh, so you want to know what happened when I finally took the course? I basically failed because my sense of what you can’t do and say in the workplace is a lot different than what those Goody Two Shoes were told to teach us. Everyone has their own line to cross and people need to get over being so uptight. Yes, there are things you can’t say on the job. But there are things that people get the panties in a bunch over for no reason at all. Just remember, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” We know what names you can throw at someone, but then are others that are OK if they are said in jest and not to harm.
