For years Craig Ferguson has complained that The Late Late Show doesn’t have a house band like all the other late night talk shows, but on December 3rd that will no longer be the case. Richie Sambora and his band will be playing on the CBS talk show for a whole week. I am so excited for this even though Bon Jovi’s guitarist refused to do it “naked, playing a tiny little harp.” Maybe next time!
Two weeks ago today Jimmy Kimmel had to cancel his show in Brooklyn and David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon did theirs without an audience because of Hurricane Sandy. Well that was the East Coast and Craig Ferguson is on the West Coast. So 11 days later, he unintentionally did a show like theirs, but a Superstorm was not the cause of it. Even though The Late Late Show moved to a new and improved stage a few months, the CBS late night show is still having the same problems as the old one. Shortly after the Scot started taping his show, the lights went out. Instead of calling it a day, he went on with the show. I guess it helps that his Robot Skeleton Sidekick has electric blue eyes that can light up the stage and Geoff Peterson is powered by batteries in his a$$ and not on a power grid like the stage lights. Not only is he there for the laughs, he is there to be a power source when there is no power to be had!
BTW Craig maybe instead of changing stages, you should change studios! We would love to have you do your show here in the Valley like Ellen, Conan and Leno!
Matthew Perry was a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday and Craig Ferguson got him to sniff a king-sized Sharpie. Well as anyone who has done it, you know you get an instant high. And that is exactly what happened to the Go On star after he got a whiff of the good stuff. Watch how the interview changes tone after each hit!
I hope he gets to be the CBS late night host’s permanent backup guest, but only if a Sharpie is involved!
Tom Hanks was a guest on The Late Late Show yesterday and his chat with Craig Ferguson was one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. They talked about so many things, that I cannot go into all of them in this post. But my favorite part is when Forrest Gump says that he can teach the audience how to talk in a Scottish accent with just two words. Those two words are “silver plate” and Ferguson, who is Scottish, disagreed with him. The CBS late night host then really tried to teach him how to talk like a Scot, but it didn’t work out that well. What I think worked out great is when Hanks said that he wanted to ride Secretariat and Ferguson made it happen. If you watch the show show, you know why that is quite an accomplishment. If you don’t watch, then you have to watch to see what happened. Let’s just say he took it lying down and I am not sure who was more uncomfortable the horse or Hanks. And I am assuming he gave the horse his number because it is the proper thing to do in that situation!
Seriously I love Tom Hanks and this interview just made me love him a little more. So much so he can ride me like Ferguson’s horse any time he wants. Joking…
Ever read a story that is so preprosperous about a celebrity that you wondered what their reaction would be when they found out about it? Well now you get witness just that. Tonight on CBS’s The Late Late Show at 12:37a Craig Ferguson responds to a story in Star Magazine that reports that Katie Couric and him are in a feud. They say he is jealous of her ratings because you know she is on during the day and he is on up against infomercials in the middle of the night. So they are directly competing against each other and of course he is envious of her ratings. Then the weekly tabloid said that they might’ve dated or that she rejected the happily married host’s advances. Seriously who believes he hit on her and she said no. I would totally say yes to the John Astin lookalike if he were single.
So is their feud between Katie Couric and Craig Ferguson? You have to watch his confession above to find out. And yes he handles as you would expect to Scot to handle it.
Seriously how much do you love him for dedicating part of his show to respond the rumors about him. I wish more stars would.
