Cher’s life and music are so extraordinary that someone made a Broadway musical about it. You cannot tell her story without also talking about her ex-husband and partner the late Sonny Bono. Today on Today, Jenna Bush asked her how he would feel about it. The legend told her, “He would like it. He’d be pissed off a little bit, but he knows it’s true. So he’d be OK.”
She says that the show “does not paint him in the best light, but then, it’s so crazy. he was so funny.” Although, there is a scene in the play that causes her to sob every time she sees it. That is when his ghost comes to talk to her.
Even though they had a difficult divorce, they did become friendly long before he died in a skiing accident in 1998.
If I were in NYC, I would see three women play the one and only Cher in The Cher Musical. There are still tickets available, so go see it.
Last week, James Corden decided to do something original on The Late Late Show. He decided to play Musical Chairs with Cher, himself and 4 other people dressed as the singing legend. Not only that, the music, of course, was Cher’s.
How did it go? Do you believe in love? Wait, I mean, do you believe that no one has done this before? It seems like a no-brainer. Well to everyone except Will H. Macy, who was the first to go it. His face is like, if I could turn back time, I would not do this. Poor Macy and his shameless attempt at Musical Chers!

Meryl Streep and Cher were photographed kissing on the lips, so do they have something to tell us? Mamma Mia, do they have something to tell us. Their second movie together Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again comes out this Friday and they want you to see it.
Am I the only one who finds it interesting that the 72-year-old actress is playing Streep’s mom when she is only 3 years older than her?
When it comes to what other movie they did together, that was 1983’s Silkwood that earned them both Oscar nominations. Maybe history will repeat itself and both of them will find themselves nominated again 35 years later for a film they are both in.
No matter how much time has passed, Cher never seems to age. Today when the 72-year-old was on Today, Sheinelle Jones asked the iconic Diva what is her secret to never aging.
The Gypsy and thief told them, “I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t do drugs. I never have. I work out. I am pretty good with my diet except I like chocolate. And I think, I have always kept working.”
Well, if that is her secret, I am so screwed. Does it count that I did her workout tape when I was a kid? Will that help me look as young as her when I am her age?
Let’s be honest, we have all named our private parts after someone. Some of us, including me, have named them after someone famous. In my case two people!
Anyhoo, Sarah Silverman says that her boyfriend named his and Michael Sheen calls it “The Great Christine Baranski.” Today, when she was on The Graham Norton Show, the BBC host had to ask her about it. Specifically, why she thinks the actor named his little man after the great actress? She said, “Long lasting career?” Then Cher piped in with, “tall and thin?” Why do you think?
Baranski says if she ever meets him, she will have to ask him about it. That is right, he has never met her. If they ever do meet, then it will be even more amazing than that time that Steve Carell met Kelly Clarkson. Seriously, what would Sheen do? If I were him, I would run like the Road Runner out of the joint because there is no way I could possibly face the people I named my privates after. Could you?
BTW the best part of this whole thing is Baranski’s reaction. She is so prim and proper that she does not even know how to talk about it. But then again would anyone?
