Have the tissues ready for Code Black
November 9th, 2016 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg3bUa3lp2M
Tonight’s Code Black on CBS at 10p is so powerful you don’t want to miss it.
A young woman wakes up in the hospital in pain and Dr. Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) has to tell her she has been beaten and raped at a party at her college. She has no memory of the incident or who did this to her.
She wasn’t brought in alone, so were two men who were beaten up. One of those men is her rapist and the other is the man who got him off of her. The man, who attacked her, is unconscious and when she finds out who she is, she will confront him in a such a manner you will be left with chills.
If that is enough, another young woman all checks into the ER. This patient is terminal and all she wants to do is die on her accord before her illness takes over who she is. Now Col. Ethan Willis (Rob Lowe) has to decide what to do. Will he help her end her life or will he send her home?
This is the type of episode that sticks with you for a long time because everyone from behind the scenes to the in front of the camera gave it their all.

Could next season be Hawaii Five-0’s last?
November 4th, 2016 under Alex O'Loughlin, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Before Alex O’Loughlin starred in Hawaii Five-0, he had two failed series on CBS, Moonlight and Three Rives, that only lasted a season. Then he got the crime procedural and it is in its 7th season. It has been seven painful seasons for him and he told ETonline that he only has one more in him.

He said, “I have an end date. I signed two more years, seasons seven and eight, and then I’m done. I got too many injuries to contend with. This show is really important to me and I’m pretty sure the world can see that with what I bring. I really care about these characters, I’ve never phoned in my performances. Every single day, no matter how tired I am, I give it everything I can to make it as good as it can be but that takes a toll. I think if I’d have been an actor who didn’t care, I’d have less gray hair and I’d be a lot less tired. But I’m really tired. I do a lot of heavy lifting on the show, I have a harder schedule than anyone else but that’s just the way it is for No. 1. That’s cool, but it has to end.”

An example would be that the Australian native claims that after a surgery he had from an injury sustained from the drama, he went to work the next day and worked as normal.
If he keeps his word about departing the show next season, I would find it hard to continue without him. Not that the other cast members are not good enough to carry the show, it is just his show to carry. Two of CBS dramas lost their leads in the last year, and they are feeling the ratings pinch without their leading men and I don’t think this one can go on without theirs. Do you think it could?

Plan to love Man With a Plan!
October 24th, 2016 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

When CBS sent out the pilot for Man With a Plan back in May, you could tell it was missing something but still had potential. As we know, there was a cast change and that change completely changed the show for the better. Tonight at 8:30p on CBS, you will remember how great it is to have Matt LeBlanc do what he does best. Traditional sitcoms in front of a live audience.
Adam (LeBlanc) and Andi’s (Liza Snyder) youngest daughter is starting kindergarten, so the stay at home mom decided to go back to work. In return, Adam is going to have pick up her slack. Since he is the boss of his own company, he will get to spend more time with his kids and that is something he really doesn’t know how to do. His three kids won’t make it easy on him because they are used to having their mom do everything for them and that is not the way he does things.
They are going to rebel against him and he is going to have to find a way to outsmart them. Adam doesn’t think he can do it; but when he sees how much Andi loves his job, he knows what he has to do it. He will thankfully have some help from Lowell (Matt Cook) who also has a child in Adam’s youngest child’s class.
Each week, he will learn to be a more a hands on dad and his kids will come up with new ways to make it harder for him. Starting next week, we get to meet his brother played by Kevin Nealon. He brings another funny dynamic to this already hilarious show.
My only complaint about Man With a Plan is that there is not enough Matt Cook. He is going to be a huge!

The 5th, 6th and 7th shows to get full season pickups are…
October 17th, 2016 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

A video posted by Bull (@bullcbs) on

No Bull about it, Kevin Can Wait, Bull and MacGyver all got full season pick ups from CBS today. Is the news a surprise? Of course not. Bull is the #1 new drama and Kevin Can Wait is the #1 new comedy in viewers. When it comes to MacGyver, I am surprised people are watching it. I guess the CBS audience turns on the channel at 8p and stays there until after Blue Bloods. Which more of you people need to be watching because the Tom Selleck/Donnie Wahlberg show is the best and most consistent drama on The Eye.
BTW the other shows that have full season orders are NBC’s This Is Us, ABC’s Speechless and Designated Survivor, and Fox’s Lethal Weapon. Of the new shows that have already debuted the only shows I expect to get full seasons are NBC’s The Good Place and Timesless, ABC’s American Housewife and maybe The CW’s Frequency. The rest I expect to be gone by the new year like ABC’s Conviction and Notorious, Fox’s Son of Zorn and The Exorcist and The CW’s No Tomorrow that will live up to its name.

What to watch tonight Supergirl, The Big Bang Theory, Scorpion and Timeless.
October 10th, 2016 under CBS, Chuck Lorre, DC Comics, Katharine McPhee, NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Supergirl flies over from CBS to The CW tonight at 8p and it feels right at home.
When National City is impending danger, Supergirl gets some help from her cousin Superman and the two enjoy working together. Shortly after they save the day, Lex Luthor’s sister, who has relocated there, finds her life in danger. Now the two of them have to work together to save her life.
If that is not for Kara (Melissa Benoist) to have to deal with, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) wants her to make a decision on whether she will stay as her assistant or become reporter. Not only that, she is about to go on her first date with Jimmy Olsen (Mechad Brooks). That is a lot for a normal person, but it is tougher for someone who is from Krypton.
I have to say, I sincerely found myself enjoying Supergirl more on The CW than CBS. it just feels right.

Talking about moving, also at 8p but over on CBS, Amy (Mayim Bialik) is moving in with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) on The Big Bang Theory after her apartment is flooded and needs to be fixed up for 5 whole weeks. What can go wrong? Let me rephrase that, what can go right? The laughs because it is very funny episode.

Then at 10p, Scorpion is out of this World. Walter is asked to perfect the rocket he came up with; but when lightening strikes the rocket takes off with him on it. Now it us up for the team to save him before he runs out of oxygen. The lack of oxygen causes him to hallucinate and he imagines Paige (Katharine McPhee) up there with him. What he says and does might make him want to stay up there. Is the last we see of him? You will have to tune into this exciting episode to find out.

Talk about exciting, how about Timeless going back to 1865 to the day that Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. That is what the NBC time traveling drama does tonight at 10p. Do you rewrite history and save the beloved President or do you let him die as it has been written? It is a tough decision they have to make, but watching the incredible episode is anything but tough.
