Even though we are over three months away from the start of the Fall television lineup, that is not stopping CBS from announcing when their old shows will be back and when the new ones will premiere. Can you believe that 60 Minutes is turning 50? That is a lot of minutes. When it comes to the new shows, I just started watching the pilots and I really adored 9JKL. Here’s the CBS Fall schedule!
May 17th, 2017 under 60s, Camryn and Milo Manheim, CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced their Fall schedule today and they are very stable. Of course they have a confusing start on Mondays because of Football but then things calm down.

Mondays starts off with The Big Bang Theory for a few weeks and it will be used to launch Mark Feuerstein’s 9JKL which is loosely based on his life when he was filming USA’s Royal Pains. Then at 9p it is Kevin Can Wait and Me, Myself & I. The latter is about a man’s perspective through three different times of his life, the cast looks off because the younger two don’t look like John Laroquette. Finally, Scorpion closes the night.

Tuesday and Fridays are the exact same. Wednesdays opens with Survivor and ends with Criminal Minds, but in the middle they have David Borenaz’s Seal Team.

Thursdays after NFL starts off with The Big Bang Theory followed by its spinoff Young Sheldon. At 9p, it is still Mom and Life In Pieces. They close the night with Shemar Moore’s SWAT.

Finally, on Sunday they start off with Wisdom of the Crowd and end with NCIS: LA and Madame Secretary.

There is not much to say, but I think it was really smart for them to put The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon together.

Don’t call Pauley Perrette, Abby!
May 9th, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: 4 ]

For the last 14 years, Pauley Perrette has playing Abby Sciuto on the World’s most watched show, so it should be no surprise that people, when they meet her, call her by her NCIS character’s name. While she should be flattered that people even know who she is, she Tweeted, “In response, Hello! My name is Pauley. Abby is a fictional character who ‘works’ for fictional characters. Thanks!”

Pauley, you are no Mark Harmon, and that is why people might not know your real name when they see you in person. Be happy they even know who you are because who were you before the CBS procedural? Who will you be afterwards? Abby made you rich and let’s you do all you want to do. Embrace it, don’t shun it.

I am sorry, I hate when celebs don’t like to be known for the characters that gives them the lives they desired. I am talking to all you Chachis, Screeches and Urkels out there. You are just as much your character as you are yourself. Don’t like it, then, I say, go behind the scenes and do what the people who make you look and sound good do. You know the people whose names we don’t know.

CBS picked up 18 shows for next season
March 23rd, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: 3 ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md78MVXXrnU
Days after CBS announced that they picked up The Big Bang Theory for 2 more seasons, today they announced 17 more shows that will join the sitcom next season.. They are Blue Bloods, Bull, Hawaii Five-0, Kevin Can Wait, Life In Pieces, MacGyver, Madam Secretary, Man With A Plan, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, Superior Donuts, Survivor, 48 Hours and 60 Minutes.

The news is not a surprise for most of those shows. Although, I am a little surprised that they picked 5 of their news ones. Well, all but Superior Donuts because I really like that show. When it comes to the other freshman shows, they have not really had a hit on their hands. They are all doing OK in the ratings, but nothing to write home about. Maybe they will do better during their second season. Just like Life in Pieces. Oh wait, did anyone else know that the show was still on the air?

While these are the shows that were picked up, missing is Two Broke Girls, The Odd Couple, Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, The Great Indoors, Code Black, Training Day, Ransom, Elementary, Amazing Race and Undercover Boss. Of these shows, I think CBS might consider a shortened final season for Criminal Minds, if they can get Shemar Moore to do it. I also suspect that either Two Broke Girls and/or The Odd Couple will be back as a midseason replacement. When it comes to the rest, I think enjoy them while you can because they won’t be back. Unless they really screwed up pilot season and there is nothing besides the TBBT spinoff worth picking up.

There is also one omission from the press release that surprises me. I am surprised that CBS didn’t announce Hawaii Five-0’s final season in it. Alex O’Loughin says that next season will be his last and without him, there is no show. The only reason why they have not made it official is maybe they are still hoping Dan-O will book him.

What shows are you happy they picked up and which ones are you sad that they didn’t?

Meet Lowell’s wife on Man with a Plan, Superior Donuts tackles racism!
March 13th, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj6n4_y5p2g
After 15 episodes, we are finally going to meet Lowell’s (Matt Cook) wife on Man with a Plan on CBS tonight at 8:30p. For those of you who don’t watch, Lowell is a stay at home dad that follows Adam (Matt LeBlanc) around like a lap dog because he desperately needs a male friend in his life. Adam and his wife (Liza Snyder), Andi, think that Lowell’s wife is make believe because they have never seen her. When they hear she is in town, they invite the couple over dinner.

The two create an escape plan to end their night early, just in case she is a real loser. But when they finally meet her, they find out she is perfect, as in Jenna Dewan Tatum perfect. Andi and Adam fall in love with her immediately and they want to make her their new best friends. Only problem is Lowell and his wife use the same excuse to cut their plans short, so now Andi and Adam think they are being rejected. What happens next is why Man with a Plan has become a quick darling on CBS.

Personally, I think that Cook is the star and needs his own show. Now that we have met Jenna, there is no excuse why they can’t get a spinoff! Who wants to see that happen?

Then at 9p on Superior Donuts, Franco (Jermaine Fowler) is stopped and frisked by an Asian cop because he is African-American. When Franco tries to explain that to the two cops at Superior Donuts, Officer DeLuca (Katey Sagal) tells Franco that that cop is one of the good ones in Chicago.

Wanting to ease tensions between the cops and the people of the neighborhood, Arthur (Judd Hirsch) lets them have a meeting about race in his shop. When something goes missing after the meeting, everyone’s loyalty and views on race are questioned. All coming to one heated exchange between Franco and that cop when he is once again questioned by him. What happens next has everyone questioning everything and changing their outlooks.

Tonight’s Superior Donuts is a must not miss, don’t miss it! Donuts not required, but they make the show sweeter.
