Celebrity Big Brother gets an air date!
December 1st, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

If you are me, then you were wondering when will America’s first version of Celebrity Big Brother air and now I know the answer. CBS announced today that it will debut on February 7th and run all the way throughout the Olympics. Which means they are putting a lot of faith into it. In order for the show to be a hit, they are going to need names. Will they get them? I doubt it.

That was not their only announcement for the midseason. They also revealed that The Amazing Race returns on January 3rd, Living Biblically debuts on February 26th replacing 9JKL, Survivor is back for its, who can count that high, season on February 28th and finally Instinct takes over for Wisdom of the Crowd on March 11th.

Still missing from the schedule is Elementary and Code Black. I am assuming both show will debut in May and run through the summer. My gut says that they want to get Code Black as far away from The Good Doctor as possible.

Elementary gets 8 additional episodes this season
November 29th, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Even though, CBS has yet the slot the 6th season of Elementary, they announced today that they want 8 more episodes from the show. Bringing the total to 21, 1 short of full season.

Which makes you wonder if the network is doing that so the drama could have a proper sendoff since I doubt it will get a 7th season. But then again, I said that after 4th and 5th seasons.

My gut says that this will be a summer show and they want to see how it will do. But considering how bad it has been doing during the regular one, the Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu will not be back. But nowadays, you never know.

Everyone is racist on Superior Donuts!
November 27th, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 9p on CBS, no race, religion, sex, sexual preference or political view is safe on Superior Donuts. When Franco (Jermaine Fowler) feels that Arthur’s (Judd Hirsch) flour guy (Brian Doyle Murray) is making a racist comments towards him, the employee decides to fire him without his boss’ permission. Now Franco must find a new flour person quickly because they need it to make the donuts for the Gay Pride parade that is coming up. Luckily, Franco finds someone but that person makes disparaging comments towards someone else in the restaurant. Strike two, so Sofia (Diane Guerrero) suggests her political correct friends to deliver their flour, but that white powder takes like crap. That is strike three. What will Arthur and Franco do now? You just have to see what happens because it is the perfect ending for an episode that leaves no one unscathed.

What I like about Superior Donuts, it shows all sides of the story to make their point and let’s you decide on what you want to do with it. Sounds serious, but the show is so hysterical and they say humorous lessons stick with you more than ones that are based solely on facts. That way you learn something and don’t feel like you did.

As I was typing this CBS announced that this sitcom along with Man With a Plan both got a full second season pickup. Which means that By the Book will most likely air when 9JKL ends its 16-episode first season run sometime next year. I am still hoping the latter will be back for a second season, but that will only happen if CBS realizes that Life in Pieces is unfunny crap and needs to go away.

SWAT and 9JKL get more episodes!
November 18th, 2017 under CBS. [ Comments: none ]

CBS announced that it will be keeping Shemar Moore’s SWAT around for the full season and that 9JKL will be around a little longer. The comedy that stars Mark Feuerstein, Linda Lavin and Elliot Gould was asked to do 3 more episodes. Personally, it my favorite CBS comedy, so I hope they ask for even more episodes.

No word for Wisdom of the Crowd, but I am pretty sure that it is 13 and done, partially because of the alleged accusations made against the show’s star Jeremy Piven. That and they still need to slot Instinct, Code Black and Elementary. Yes, Elementary was renewed for another season. No, I do not know why.

Lucifer is loose in Sin City, Superior Donuts tackles police brutality
November 6th, 2017 under CBS, Lucifer. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p on Fox, it is Chloe’s (Lauren German) birthday on Lucifer and someone got her a cake full of male strippers. Who the gift giver is will surprise you.

As she is celebrating her birthday at the police station, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) gets a phone call that his wife Candy (Lindsey Gort) has gone missing. Lopez (Aimee Garcia) walks in on him when he gets the news, and convinces him that they should go to Vegas to find her. When they get there, they discover a dead body at her place but it is not her. Now they are loose in Las Vegas, trying to find his wife. How much trouble can the devil get in to in Sin City, you want to tune in to find out.

Meanwhile, Chloe is mad at Lucifer for ditching her on her special day, so she crashes his place with Linda (Rachael Harris). They throw a party without him, and have more fun than two mortals should! How safe are they? Not that safe after they find his safe. What’s inside? I cannot tell you. But it is moment you do not want to miss.

Tonight, you get to see a different side of everyone and I hope we see them like this more often. Oh, did I mention we see Lucifer lead a Vegas lounge act with Lopez as one of his showgirls. It is as fantastic as you expect it to be.

Then at 9p on CBS, Randy (Katey Sagal) and Franco (Jermaine Fowler) get into a fight over her job on Superior Donuts.

Sweatpants (Rell Battle) comes in to Superior Donuts with a viral video of a cop that brutally arrested some of their friends. The officer turns out to be Randy and now that is going to make things difficult for everyone at the donut shop. She tries to explain what happened, but Franco isn’t having it. Meanwhile, Arthur (Judd Hirsch) refuses to hear it because he has known Randy since she was a kid and he does not believe that she is that type of cop.

In fact, the only solution for Franco and Arthur is to follow her on her beat. While they are tailing her, she responds to a robbery and gets shot. Will this change Franco’s view of her? Better yet, will she survive? What happens if she does?

What makes this show so special and unique, is that it debates today’s biggest issues by showing both sides, informing the viewers and making us laugh. They do all of that by not being preachy, just informative. For example in the above promo, you hear Franco says, “Please don’t be Black,” Sofia (Diane Guerrero) say, “Please don’t be Latina,” and Fawz (Maz Jobrani) say, “Please don’t be Muslim.” And how many of were saying that yesterday when they heard about the heinous shooting in Texas? It is one moment that we all can understand. One moment that unites us, and this sitcom is brilliantly showing both sides. Something more people need to pay attention to because not everything is Republican or Democrat. Put down your phones, switch off your computers and turn on your TVs to watch Superior Donuts at 9p.
