Now that CBS dramas are almost all initials like NCIS, FBI, CSI, Magnum PI, and SWAT, they don’t have as much room for shows that don’t have them. Therefore, they are getting rid of Unicorn, All Rise, Clarice, and SEAL Team. The latter two are moving Paramount+. This means that Boreanaz’s record of being on television since he started on Buffy the Vampire Slayer lives on. His career is like a Vampire’s; it just won’t die.
While they all got bad news, Chuck Lorre got good news. All four of his sitcoms, Bob Hearts Abishola, Young Sheldon, B Positive, and United States of Al will all be back next season.
It has been an interesting few months for the NCIS franchise. First, CBS canceled NCIS: NoLa. Then they were able to convince Mark Harmon to come back to do another season of the mothership.
Today, they announced that NCIS: LA will be back for lucky 13. If that is not enough good news for the fans, then they will be happy to know that they are getting another NCIS. This one will be based in Hawaii.
As we know from Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I., the backdrop is stunning. To me, that is the only reason to watch those shows. Well, back when Five-0 was on the air.
Back to CBS, this means next season they will have three NCISes, Three FBIs, at least two Chuck Lorre comedies, and one CSI. Who says Hollywood can’t come up with original ideas any more?
Every year, we wonder if NCIS will be back or if Mark Harmon is ready to retire. He will be around for the 19th season. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, we do not know how many episodes he will appear in.
CBS already announced that Mom, McGuyver, and NCIS: NoLa are ending this year. Will All Rise, NCIS: LA, B Positive, Clarice, SEAL Team, The Unicorn, and/or United States of Al join them? We will find out soon enough.
Today, The Talk does its first live episode in over a month. They went on hiatus because the hosts got into a heated discussion over race issues. The discussion was so heated that Sharon Osbourne left the show.
During their first episode back on CBS this afternoon, they will address the situation. “It’s time for an episode of ‘The Talk’ that will be unlike any other we’ve had before.” Underwood continued with, “As you may know, during our break, Sharon decided to leave ‘The Talk.’ We need to process the events of that day and what happened since, so we can get to the healing. Over the next hour, we will honestly discuss what occurred and explore some of our feelings. And we’ll also show you how anyone can become more comfortable discussing important issues and having difficult conversations. By the end of the hour, we want everyone to feel empowered and ready to move forward.”
Hopefully, they will get people talking and in a good way. We need to listen as well as talk. We seem to forget that. We think we are the only ones who know what we are talking about, and that is not always the case. In my case, it is. I am always right.
UPDATE: The Talk’s Elaine Welteroth also commented about what happened on March 10. She did not hold back.
“I think when you go back and watch what happened in that episode, you will see two Black women walking the same tightrope that Black women are walking every single day in the workplace,” Welteroth said. “As Sheryl said, we knew we had to stay composed in that situation, even in the face of someone who was A, not listening, and B, who went off the rails into disrespect when we were maintaining our respect within the context of this very complex, charged, emotional conversation.”
Welteroth went on to say this is the first time that she was able to address the situation publicly because of the investigation that was going on due to the heated discussion. She calmly and eloquently expressed herself and was able to get her point across.

CBS announced today that MacGyver will not be back for a 6th season. Instead, its season finale on April 30th will now serve as its series one.
“All of us at CBS are extremely grateful for the incredible work and dedication from Lucas [Till] and the rest of the cast, as well as Monica [Macer], the writers and the entire crew,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “The MacGyver team traveled far and wide to repeatedly save the world with little more than bubble gum and a paper clip and made this show distinctly their own. We’re gratified we get to give this dedicated and loyal fan base the opportunity to say goodbye to their favorite characters in the thoughtful manner this series deserves.”
Is the news a surprise? Nope, the fact that it lasted this long is. It never caught on, and its ratings have never been good.
I guess CBS is saying out with the reboots and in with CSI.
