I have to admit when I heard that NBC was doing a live version of The Sound of Music, I was very hesitant about it. Now that I have heard her sing some of the most famous songs from the movie, I am prepared to be blown away on December 5th when the special airs on NBC at 8p.
Carrie Underwood is going to play Maria Von Trapp in a live version of The Sound of Music next Christmas on NBC that is produced by the people who are bringing us Smash and this year’s Oscars.
The network released a statement to TVLine saying:
“We’re thrilled to be presenting the Broadway version of The Sound of Music live. And having Carrie Underwood as the star brings it to a new generation who will fall in love with it for the first time, as many millions of people already have. It’s a particular joy to us as producers to see this amazing artist stretch into new territory with this classic musical.â€
As much as I love Carrie Underwood the singer, I think she is a boring actress and won’t be able to do justice for the iconic role. Do you think she has the chops to do it?
Back in the ’90s Jimmy Fallon and Carrie Underwood were the singing duet Jim Carrie. Together they sang Country Rap music, or as it better known as C’Rap. There is a reason why most of us have never heard of that type of music and that is because it’s awful!
That Late Night was so stupid and yet it was so funny!
Carrie Underwood was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the two of them debuted their duet Before You Freak on the show. Let’s just say it is all types of freaking awesome. I mean could that Britney Spears reference be anymore perfect.
So sit back and enjoy a song that you won’t be getting out of your head anytime soon.
Carrie Underwood was just starting in school when Debbie Gibson was climbing the charts with her hit Electric Youth, and I guess that was her inspiration for her 29th birthday look. The All-American Girl Tweeted the above picture and said “Best. Birthday. Ever!” Looking how happy she is in that picture, you can tell she meant it.
It still amazes me how a little farm girl, wowed us on a reality show and now is a top-selling singer. Out of all the American Idol winners, I think she deserved all of her success most.
