Doyle Brunson’s comedy roast overheated Thursday, after emcee Brad Garrett’s vulgar zingers sent Pamela Anderson storming out of a Bellagio ballroom. On a night when no one was safe from f-bombs, ethnic slurs and below-the-belt slams, Garrett gave Anderson the worst of it.Things got tense when a member of Anderson’s entourage yelled at Garrett as Anderson walked off the dais after making the short speech of the night."When are you going to get funny, Brad?" a member of Anderson’s entourage yelled as she headed for the door,"Come on," huffed Garrett, calling out the heckler. "When you’re done shooting up, we’ll go toe to toe."As Anderson, who is getting married today on the French Riviera, and her handlers left, Garrett referred to the heckler as "Tommy Lee’s afterbirth."Lee, Motley Crue’s drummer, is Anderson’s ex-husband.Sources tell me Garrett was asked by Anderson’s people before the roast to "lay off" her. Garrett, who was a co-star on the long-running "Everybody Loves Raymond," wasted no time in targeting Anderson’s famous curves and her headline-grabbing sexploits. Near the end of the roast, Garrett introduced MGM Mirage honcho Bobby Baldwin and added that he hoped he hadn’t ruined his headlining career in Las Vegas. "I can’t speak for the others, but you’re done at least for our properties," said Baldwin, putting on his best poker face.A source in Anderson’s camp said, "It was agreed by the promoters, the comedy writers and Brad’s agent and management that Pam would not be made the subject of the roast." Anderson was in Las Vegas to launch her pamelapoker.com Web site in conjunction with Brunson’s doylesroom.com.An e-mailed request for a response from Garrett’s camp was not returned by deadline.
