Back in June, Mark Hoppus revealed that he has been battling diffuse large B-cell lymphoma stage IV-A. Last week, he said he was going to get scans that would determine whether he would live or die. Today, he shared with us the results, and he is winning the fight against the blood cancer.
“Scans indicate that the chemo is working! I still have months of treatment ahead, but it’s the best possible news.
“I’m so grateful and confused and also sick from last week’s chemo. But the poison the doctors pump into me and the kind thoughts and wishes of people around me are destroying this cancer.
“Just gonna keep fighting…”
Hopefully, the next round of chemo will leave the Blink-182 bassist cancer-free. We need to keep him alive so that he can keep giving us great music. After all, he wrote the band’s best tunes like Adam’s Song.
Mark Hoppus normally posts funny things on his social media. However, today, he got serious with his fans.
“For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this. I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive,” he wrote. “Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the near future. Love to you all.”
Hopefully, the Blink-182 bassist will be cancer-free soon and back on the road with the band. So today, take some time and pray he gets through this. All the small things we can do with prayer can help someone like him.
When you think who are the members of Blink-182, you know they are Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge and that other guy. That other guy knows he is not as famous as his bandmates.
That’s because Mark Hoppus tweeted, “If I ever die I hope people think back to me and say ‘Was he the Sum 41 dude? No, not him. The bassist. Wait. Am I thinking of Fall Out The Disco? Did they sing What’s My Name Again? No, that was Green Day. Shit.’” They probably are already saying that!
Joking, I love Blink and know all of their names. And not just because I almost got fired from a job because I introduced them to someone who was I not supposed to introduce them to. All the small things to lose a job over.
Mark Hoppus Tweeted this picture of his shocked reaction when a shark bit down him. I bet out of all the small things to attack him, a baby shark was towards the bottom of his list. Oh well, at least we got this cute picture out of the brutal attack.
Travis Barker is a father and because of that the rocker really lost his way. The Blink 182 drummer forgot how to rock, until someone forced an intervention and got him the help he needed. After 6 months of rehab and intense psycho therapy he became the man we have always known again.
So now he is a spokesperson for Helping Parents to Rock and as you can in the PSA that aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live, they really made a difference with him. So if you know a parent that needs to remember how to rock then get them into that program ASAP. I just signed my friends up because they have gotten so square!
BTW I am just happy that got awful hairpiece off of Barker. That look was so not him!
