If you asked most people to name any modern-day scientists, they would mention Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye the Science Guy. We think of them as the two of the smartest people alive. Maybe we were wrong.
The astrophysicist decided to challenge his friend to the Reflex Challenge to see who had better reflexes. The answer is the Pluto demoter. But he had an advantage; he and his brother used to play Slap Jack all the time. So, Bill and Neil decided to try to see who is better at that one. The answer was the same.
Watching these great minds do childhood challenges made me, for the first time, realize that deGrasse Tyson did have the same science teachers as me in junior high school because those are the smartest things I could ever do in science class.
Bill Nye is as known for being the Science Guy as he is for wearing bow ties!
So when Nye was on the Today show yesterday, Craig Melvin asked him how many bow ties he owns. How many? Under his breath, he said about 500. But I think he should be proud of that number!
How does he organize them? By color, of course. Am I the only one who wants to see his collection because I am sure it is spectacular?
As spectacular as the fact that Nye has been teaching us science for 30 years, and he told the Today anchors that people come up to him and tell him they went into science-related careers because of him. That is a fantastic legacy to leave behind.
Not that he is going anywhere because you watch his latest show, The End is Nye on Peacock.
Ever since we were told about COVID-19, medical experts told us to wash our hands for 20 seconds. We all started to do it, even though we did not know why.
Well, now we know why. Bill Nye: The Science Guy explained it to us and it is really simple. At least to him, it is. To me, it is still confusing. That is why all of my science teachers hated me. Actually, all of my teachers did, but that is for another post. This one is all about Bill Nye: The Cool Guy.
We know there are a lot of science deniers who don’t believe you need to wear a mask to protect others from COVID-19. Instead, they are listening to TV doctors like Dr. Drew Pinsky and Dr. Phil McGraw, who are not clinical doctors. Since they are listening to them for medical advice, maybe they will listen to a TV scientist for scientific advice on why they need to wear a mask to protect you and me?
So, Bill Nye the Science Guy made a TikTok, and explained in the simplest of terms why you MUST to cover your pie hole and the two holes above it. I think he is pretty convincing. But then again, I always wear a mask because I don’t want to be responsible for giving someone coronavirus. and them dying from it. I care about all people. Unlike the COVIDiots who refuse to wear a mask.

Before Joel McHale was hosting Talk Soup, he was accused of drinking hot chocolate on Bill Nye, the Science Guy. He looks different as a nerd when he was 27 in that 1998 episode.
