What song did Barry Manilow write in a dream?
July 25th, 2019 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: none ]

Barry Manilow writes the songs that make the whole world sing and one of those songs he wrote in a dream.

Today when he was on Good Morning America, Robin Roberts wanted to know what is his favorite song that he has written. At first, he was hesitant to give an answer because he says, “They are all my children.” Then he settled on Could It Be Magic which is one of the first songs of his he ever released and he based it on Frédéric Chopin’s Prelude.

Then he revealed his second favorite song is One Voice. It is one of his favs because he wrote it in a dream. Then he explained how it came about, “I got up in the middle of the night. It was all there, the melody, the lyrics.” Adding, “I whispered into the cassette machine…Then I went back to sleep. And then I played it in the morning and there it was, the whole song.”

It literally was a dream come true for him.

Rite-Aid is using Barry Manilow to scare away panhandlers
June 29th, 2018 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: none ]

via John Fields
Several Rite-Aid pharmacies in South Califonia are so sick of panhandlers in front of their stores that they came up with an interesting way to get rid of them. They starting blasting Barry Manilow hits and it worked according to KCBS. In fact, it worked so well that it also chased away the customers no matter how much they were stuck on their Band-Aids. I guess you can say that they were not Fanilows. So much so, a store in Hollywood had to stop playing the tunes.

Hey I get, I used to usher concerts in Atlanta and Manilow was the only singer who left my ears ringing for days. If anyone’s music would make me run from a store, it is his. Although, that does not mean I don’t have hits on my playlist!

Seriously, am I the only one who has Mandy stuck in their heads right now? Make it go away.

Words of Wizdumb by Barry Manilow!
December 21st, 2017 under Barry Manilow, Words of Wizdumb. [ Comments: 3 ]

2017 has been a crappy year, mostly because of the man sitting in the White House. If Barry Manilow had his way, he would take over that office to make music for people to get laid to. If we were all having passionate sex again, then maybe we would all be happy again. Therefore, he has my vote. After all he writes the songs that make the whole world sing. So let us belt out that special song we all sing after sex and make his Tweet one step closer to reality.

Bette Midler and Barry Manilow don’t talk anymore
December 5th, 2016 under Barry Manilow, Bette Midler. [ Comments: none ]

Back in the ’70s and ’80s, Bette Midler and Barry Manilow owned the NYC Bath House scene and were the best of friends. Then a few years ago, we stopped seeing them together. Turns out they are no longer talking to each other. The sacrilege.
The Divine Miss M revealed to Willie Geist on Today yesterday he hasn’t been the wind beneath her wings for over a decade. What happened? They were working on a Peggy Lee tribute album and the arrangement didn’t work for her. Without Manilow’s, who was sick and didn’t tell her, knowledge, she reworked it. She says he got mad at her and hasn’t spoken to her since.
Someone needs to get them together ASAP and end this feud we didn’t know about. Jimmy Fallon this seems right up your alley, so make it happen. Peace cannot be achieved until they are friends again.

Barry Manilow did not have a heart attack
January 14th, 2016 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: 1 ]

There are some tabloid rumors that Barry Manilow had a heart attack, and he took to Facebook that diagnosis.

NO HEART ATTACK!
Contrary to the gossip you might have heard, Barry did not have a heart attack. He’s never had a heart attack. He wasn’t rushed in a helicopter to Cedars Sinai Hospital. And he’s fine.
As already provided to the media, on October 16th Barry had a minor outpatient procedure on his right hip at a medical clinic in Burbank. He was in and out that same day.
His heart is in great shape. In fact he just finished doing five sold out concerts at the McCallum Theatre (“A Gift Of Love III) where he raised over $500,000 dollars for 30 charities in the Coachella Valley. And in two weeks he hits the road for another two months of his ONE LAST TIME! concerts.
Thanks everyone for your concern.
We’ll see you on the road!!!!

Thankfully he only needed a Band-Aid and not something more because I don’t think we could handle losing another legendary musician anytime soon.
