Barry Manilow wants you to play with him
September 16th, 2022 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: none ]

Barry Manilow is a big part of Vegas, and he finally made it. He has hit the jackpot in the City of Sin, and he wants you to do the same with his slot machine.

You can give the machine a spin at the Westgate Las Vegas, and then watch him sing on their stage! Oh, what a night.

I just have one question, what song does it play when you win? Looks Like We Made It? Can’t Smile Without You? Could It Be Magic? Mandy?

Barry Manilow got COVID-19 on his big night
April 13th, 2022 under Barry Manilow, Coronavirus. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight is a big night for Barry Manilow. Unfortunately, he isn’t going to be there even though he wants to be.

“I am heartbroken to say that I have just tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be able to attend tonight’s opening night performance of my new musical, HARMONY,” the singer wrote. “This just might be the cruelest thing that has ever happened to me: 25 years waiting for this show to premiere in New York and I can’t attend. Even in the face of this pandemic, we New Yorkers remain the toughest, staunchest people on the planet — so, put on a mask and go see a show!”

Yes, it sucks. But unlike Jonathan Larson, he can still go to another performance. You know, because Larson died the night before Rent’s opening night, Perspective is everything.

TikTok crush William White likes to lipsynch to Barry Manilow songs. Well, when the legendary crooner heard about that, he joined the social media site to see him for himself. Then, he did a duet with the cutie. It turns out White could be his son because they look so much alike. Maybe he is. Oh, like yeah, probably not.

Back to White, does that mean we should call him Barry White from now on?

What song did Barry Manilow write in a dream?
July 25th, 2019 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: none ]

Barry Manilow writes the songs that make the whole world sing and one of those songs he wrote in a dream.

Today when he was on Good Morning America, Robin Roberts wanted to know what is his favorite song that he has written. At first, he was hesitant to give an answer because he says, “They are all my children.” Then he settled on Could It Be Magic which is one of the first songs of his he ever released and he based it on Frédéric Chopin’s Prelude.

Then he revealed his second favorite song is One Voice. It is one of his favs because he wrote it in a dream. Then he explained how it came about, “I got up in the middle of the night. It was all there, the melody, the lyrics.” Adding, “I whispered into the cassette machine…Then I went back to sleep. And then I played it in the morning and there it was, the whole song.”

It literally was a dream come true for him.

Not familiar with the tune, then click here!

Rite-Aid is using Barry Manilow to scare away panhandlers
June 29th, 2018 under Barry Manilow. [ Comments: none ]

via John Fields
Several Rite-Aid pharmacies in South Califonia are so sick of panhandlers in front of their stores that they came up with an interesting way to get rid of them. They starting blasting Barry Manilow hits and it worked according to KCBS. In fact, it worked so well that it also chased away the customers no matter how much they were stuck on their Band-Aids. I guess you can say that they were not Fanilows. So much so, a store in Hollywood had to stop playing the tunes.

Hey I get, I used to usher concerts in Atlanta and Manilow was the only singer who left my ears ringing for days. If anyone’s music would make me run from a store, it is his. Although, that does not mean I don’t have hits on my playlist!

Seriously, am I the only one who has Mandy stuck in their heads right now? Make it go away.
