Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been arrested in London on suspicion of assault. Sky’s crime correspondent Martin Brunt said Campbell was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after a woman walked into a central London police station and made an allegation of assault. Police arrested the 36-year-old model at a house in Westminster, central London. She is still being questioned by police, Brunt said. The Sun newspaper reported that Campbell attacked her drug counsellor. The paper claimed the therapist made a complaint after she was "scratched all over her face" by the catwalk model.

Shouldn’t she be forced to take anger management classes or something already?

Wesley Snipes to keep filming in Africa
October 23rd, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: none ]

Wesley Snipes will continue filming as planned in Namibia despite the U.S. warrant for his arrest on tax fraud charges, the producer of "Gallowwalker" said Monday. Joanne Reay said Snipes, who is the lead actor in the movie, was on location in the desert near the town of Swakob. Reay said Snipes had traveled to Namibia to shoot the film and not to flee U.S. justice. She said the plan was to stay until the third week in December. "As far as we understand, Wesley is not going to be arrested in Namibia," she told The Associated Press. ) "We are shooting and we are continuing to shoot," said Reay. "We are aware of the issue around the tax charges but we are not discussing it." Snipes, 44, was indicted last week on eight counts of tax fraud, accused of trying to cheat the government out of nearly $12 million in false refund claims and not filing returns for six years. If convicted of all the charges, he could face 16 years in prison. At the time, prosecutors said they couldn’t arrest Snipes because they didn’t know where he was. Reay said Snipes wasn’t staying at the luxury lodge near Swakob where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt awaited the birth of their daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, earlier this year. According to the indictment, Snipes had his taxes prepared by accountants with a history of filing false returns to reap payments for their clients. The firm, American Rights Litigators, would receive 20 percent of refunds from clients, according to the indictment. Prosecutors said Snipes fraudulently claimed refunds totaling nearly $12 million in 1996 and 1997 on income taxes already paid. The star of the "Blade" trilogy, "Jungle Fever" and "White Men Can’t Jump" was also charged with failure to file returns from 1999 through 2004

Wesley Snipes found in Africa
October 20th, 2006 under Arrested. [ Comments: none ]

Call off the manhunt, we have a Wesley Snipes spotting. A Namibian film official has announced that the actor, currently wanted on charges of tax fraud in the U.S., has been in the African country for the past two months shooting a movie. "It is confirmed," Edwin Kanguatjivi, chief executive officer of the Namibia Film Commission, told Reuters. "He has been in Namibia since the end of August." According to the wire service, Snipes has been filming Gallowwalker in the desert near Swakopmund, the same coastal town that was home to a prenatal Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the run-up to their daughter Shiloh’s birth last spring. The Blade badass was indicted on eight counts of tax fraud in Florida earlier this week for allegedly failing to file tax returns for six years and for seeking $12 million in fraudulent refunds from the federal government. If convicted, Snipes could face up to 16 years in prison—hardly an incentive to rush back to the States. And as luck would have it for the on-the-lam star, Namibia does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. and, accordingly, is not expected to take any action to send the 44-year-old actor home to be tried.

E!

You know he is going to go to jail

Haley Joel Osment pleads no contest
October 19th, 2006 under Arrested, Haley Joel and Emily Osment. [ Comments: none ]

TMZ has learned that actor Haley Joel Osment has pled no contest to two misdemeanor charges stemming from a horrifying late car crash in July. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Osment plead no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana. Osment was sentenced to three years probation, 60 hours of alcohol rehab, six months of AA meetings (with a minimum of 26 meetings within that span of time) and was fined $1500 in penalties. Osment, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "The Sixth Sense" at age 11, lost control of his 1995 Saturn on his way home and collided with a brick pillar in a suburb of Los Angeles around 1 a.m. on July 20. No bystanders were injured in the wreck, but Osment wasn’t so lucky: the actor was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a broken rib and an injury to his shoulder. The collision caused the vehicle to flip over onto its roof and come to rest a short distance from the initial impact. The actor was reportedly alert and talkative following the accident, and was alone at the time of the crash.

So sad this is most likely only the beginning of his downfall!
