The normally glamorous Anne Hathway was seen looking a lot less glamorous yesterday in Beverly Hills. The Alice in Wonderland star was dressed in a light blue sweater and jeans with huge thick black glasses. Even without makeup and dressed down, she still looked great although she should lose those glasses. Those Buddy Holly glasses need to go.
Topher Grace has to thank his role in Valentine’s day to Anne Hathaway having a crush on him before they made the movie. According to OK! Garry Marshall likes his actors to have chemistry and he said, “Anne Hathaway, she told me (about) this actor she once had a crush on – we hired him, Topher Grace; they kissed very well.” We know that Anne had a thing for the That ’70s Show star, but now I wonder if he had a crush on The Princess Diaries actress and that is why “they kissed very well”?
BTW Garry also talked about another couple that he hired for the movie that he thought had chemistry beforehand, “Julia Roberts… Bradley Cooper, she did a play (Three Days of Rain) on Broadway with him, 98 performances, they must have gotten along! We matched up.” That is not always true, it was rumored that Jeremy Piven’s castmates did not get along with him when he did Speed the Plow?
Finally we are getting the full trailer for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and it looks visually stunning. The movie that stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glove is a sequel to the original story. A 19 year old Alice returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter.
When I first saw the posters for this movie, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see it. Now that I have seen the trailer, I can’t wait to see it in 3D on March 5th!
Anne Hathway is going to play Judy Garland in the Weinstein Co’s biopic Get Happy on the big screen and on Broadway according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project, which has not yet signed a writer or director, will be based on Gerald Clarke’s biography of the same name, which TWC recently optioned. Clarke draws on numerous real-life sources to tell the life story of Garland, who began singing and acting as a toddler and continued doing so all the way through her premature death at the age of 47.
Garland led a life filled with talent but also tumult, starring and singing in a host of studio musicals and other pictures, as well as giving iconic performances on stages in New York and London. She also struggled with addiction and endured a series of relationship dramas.
While I love Anne Hathaway, I am not sure this is the role for her. I just think there is something too sweet about her to capture who Judy Garland was, you know? And THR also brought up there is another problem about her playing the role…Anne is 5’8″ while Judy was only 5″. That will be an interesting obstacle for the director to overcome.

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he helped Anne Hathaway fulfill her New Year’s Resolution to do something new every day for the year! He went down a list of things for her to try and the only thing she hadn’t done was put out a birthday cake with a fire extinguisher. Who knew that discussing how to use a fire extinguisher could be so XXX rated?
BTW also Kimmel might have put that fire extinguisher away a little too early because when his next guest the smoking Jensen Ackles came on and he could have used it on the audience. Those girls were really hot for the Supernatural (which is back on The CW next thursday at 9p) star, and I know if I were there I would have screeched just like them!!! Make sure to watch the interview all the way through because Kimmel models the 3D glasses that you will need to see Jensen’s new movie My Bloody Valentine 3D when it comes out next Friday. They are much better than original ones from years past.
