Simon Cowell quits American Idol for X-Factor
January 11th, 2010 under American Idol 9+, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

Simon Cowell announced today at the Fox Winter TCA press tour day that this will be his last season on American Idol because he will be back on Fox in 2011 with his hit UK show The X-Factor according to The Live Feed. I think that Fox is making a huge mistake by letting Simon leave American Idol because without him I am not sure I will want to watch. It will kind of be like how I have been watching So You Think You Can Dance, DVR the show and fast forward through whatever the Judges have to say. I mean when was the last time Randy Jackson and/or Kara DioGuardi said anything that was useful or interesting? And when it comes to Ellen DeGeneres she better do a sh!tload better job than she did when she was on SYTYCD because if I want to hear cheesey one-liners I will go to a bar in a tight low cut shirt with my cleavage showing and let the guys do that. Wow just writing that last paragraph, I am not sure I even want to watch American Idol this season and it starts up tomorrow.
When it comes to X-Factor, I am not sure I will want to watch another competition show where we have to pick a winner. I am seriously thinking of cleaning out my DVR and getting rid of a few them when they come back on and I am sure I am not the only one. I mean in a year and half from now won’t most of us be talent showed out?
The one positive thing is at least Simon Cowell won’t be getting the rumored $40 million a year to do AI if he stayed because in these times no one is worth that amount of money. Do you know how many families could live off of that amount of money?

Is Ellen DeGeneres changing her tune about American Idol?

The first episode of Ellen Degeneres as a Judge on American Idol hasn’t even aired and there are already rumors that she is looking for a way out after this season. According to Gossip Cop Ellen didn’t realize the time commitment she needed to make to do the show and they says she is not sure she wants to make it. They also said that she doesn’t want to stay on the show without Simon Cowell, who is rumored to be leaving at the end of the season. Fox was reportedly very close to ordering a few more years of Idol without Simon, but will they still be singing the same tune without their next biggest name Ellen as a Judge? Would you watch it if Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson were the only 2 Judges left on the show?
Now back to Ellen how could she not realize it would be such a time commitment? It is the biggest show on American television, how could she think that they wouldn’t need her for hours before the live shows and on off days? I have a feeling we will be back down to 3 Judges for American Idol 10 and two of them will not be named Ellen or Simon.

Simon Cowell is still front and center at American Idol!
January 6th, 2010 under American Idol 9+, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

Fox has released this promo picture of the American Idol Judges and Simon Cowell is still front and center. I wonder whose idea it was to place him there and Ellen Degeneres and Ryan Seacrest behind him and those other two Judges at the ends where our eyes will not focus on them. I really thought they would make Ellen the center of attention, so it is nice to see that didn’t. Even though she is a big name, the show is still Simon’s…at least for this season.
So are you ready for the show to start up again on the 12th?

We don’t get the American Idol 9 Top 12 until March 16th

Fox announced the schedule for the 9th season of American Idol and even though the show starts on January 12th, we will have to wait 2 months to find out who will make it to the important Top 12. That means for 2 months we have to sit through one month of Paula Abdul-less auditions with a several musicians and actors filling in for her until Ellen DeGeneres steps in to fill her shoes on February 9th.
Gone this season from the last one is gender mixed semifinalist from the Top 24, it will once again be boys one night and girls the next. (I wonder since the results show airs on Thursdays if that means Bones will be off the schedule for those 3 weeks, so that Idol can help give a stronger (no offense Bones) lead-in to the must watch Past Lives?) Also missing this season is the Wild Card round, which I am kind of happy about because the Judges have too much say so as it is why should they each get their pick?
So now that you know what to expect for the first the two months of American Idol 9, are you getting excited for the season or are you still bummed that Paula Abdul is no longer on the show.

Here is the schedule:
Tuesday, Jan. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM) Boston Auditions Episode

J-Lo falls and Adam Lambert fails at the AMAs
November 22nd, 2009 under American Idol 9+. [ Comments: none ]

The American Music Awards had Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston making comeback performances, but all everyone can talk about is J-Lo falling on her (2:40 in) a$$ and Adam Lambert’s sh!tty performance. And if it weren’t for YouTube the West Coast would not be seeing what all the talk is about because the AMAs are going to edit out the best stuff. Jennifer Lopez was singing her song Louboutins when she jumped off of some of the male dancers she climbed on and she landed on her fat a$$. Lucky for her, her bum is so big because she didn’t feel a thing, but I felt a 4.1 on the Richter Scale. Now what is saving her from being the butt of all jokes is Adam Lambert’s crappy performance of For Your Entertainment. The only positive thing you can say about that career ending finale is…well there isn’t anything nice you can say about. People are in uproar over the fact that he grabbed a female’s crotch, had a guy’s head in his crotch and making out with male keyboardist, but I am in frenzy because my ears are still ringing from all that screeching. Dang that song was f*cking awful. I think a big reason he did all that stuff with the people on the stage is to distract people’s attention from how crappy that song was. If that was For our Entertainment, I want those 4 minutes back because that was SH!T. I predict his album will be in the discounted bin before the next American Idol is crowned…you know the title he didn’t win.
