After three weeks of rumors that Cheryl Cole was out of the US version The X Factor as a judge and that host Nicole Scherzinger was going to replace her, Fox has finally confirmed that that is the case. The Pussycat Doll will not be replaced as a host and Steve Jones will do it all by himself. Now that this is resolved we can go back to not caring about this show.
But before we do, I just have to wonder if Fox and Simon Cowell watched her as a judge on The Sing Off and compete on Dancing with the Stars because she is as exciting as limp noodle. Oh…because she turns the male execs’ limp noodles into stiff ones, I think I have my answer.
Seriously am I the only who thinks the show made a mistake swapping the two out? I know they lost me as a viewer. Oh wait, I wasn’t planning on watching the show anyways because I am singing competition showed out.
Fox has yet to announce that Cheryl Cole was dropped from their upcoming reality show The X Factor and The Hollywood Reporter is saying she might return the judging table. The Geordie singer was reportedly dropped from the show after four days and the trade magazine is saying that she wants to paid for breach of contract. They added that Freemantle doesn’t want to pay her, so a source told them that she was asked to get a US Visa so she can work on the show. Which they added she is planning on doing?
At this point I could care less if she returns or doesn’t because with each development on the behind-the-scenes turmoil makes me want to watch the show even less; and I really wasn’t planning on adding it my schedule.
Simon Cowell returned to Britain’s Got Talent tonight and boy did he make an entrance. The media mogul was elevated to the stage surrounded by smoke as the Superman theme played and he was just as smug as ever. Would we have it any other way?
Then he took his seat among the other three judges and the hosts teased him about Cheryl Cole being fired on the US version of The X Factor. Ant and Dec (since I don’t know which is which) said to him, “Can you understand my accent?” Referring to that is the “reason why” she was let go. Simon blew it off with a smile by saying, “Am I missing something here? I just got back, what’s been going on?” Nice way to avoid the question that everyone has been waiting to hear about for a week on both sides of the pond. Seriously why hasn’t Fox or him said anything about it yet???
But back to Mr Mean, his best line came later on when the hosts asked him if he planned on using his buzzer a lot during the semi-finals. The former-American Idol judge said, “I think I am going to be using my left hand a lot tonight.” Once he realized what he said could be interrupted a different way, he had a big laugh and I even think he blushed a little.
I wish he would be as naughty and quick witted here in The States when he returns to the judging table in the fall on Fox because that is the Simon Cowell I love. Seriously after watching his appearance in his home country, doesn’t it seem like he is holding back in his adopted one?
This season of American Idol was a real snore fest, but there is actually something I am going to miss until the show is back in January. After every episode of the Fox show, Jimmy Kimmel Live aired a segment called Steven Tyler’s Creep Leer of the Night. Which is basically the Aerosmith singer looking at the female singers in a way a 63 year old man shouldn’t be looking at a teenage girl. Well yesterday after the AI judge leered for the last time on TV until 2012, JKL did a best of to get us through until he we get to see him do it again. Is it January yet???
The X-Factor hasn’t even aired on Fox and already there seems to be trouble behind-the-scenes. According to TMZ Cheryl Cole is out as a judge and host Nicole Scherzinger is going to replace her. The site says that the reason for the change is because her English accent is too thick and us Yanks won’t be able to understand her. If you listen to the above video of her on The British version of the show, you can hear her thick accent but I could understand her. But I can see that it might be hard for others. TMZ also claims that there was no chemistry between Paula Abdul and her, so they decided to keep the Straight Up singer.
Meanwhile Deadline Hollywood is saying nothing is decided yet, but a source told them there is chemistry issue.
Personally I can see her not connecting with the contestants who are auditioning because they have no idea who she is and why would they want her to coach them. Now when it comes to The Pussycat Doll, the best thing about her being on the Fox show is that she was no longer going to be a judge on NBC’s The Sing-Off. She was useless and dull on that show and I expect the same of her on X-Factor. To be honest I really wasn’t considering watching the show because I am overdosed on signing competition shows, and with her taking over as a judge it solidifies that I will not be watching.
