American Idol and X Factor rumors

Shortly after American Idol’s season ended there were rumors that Jennifer Lopez was leaving the show, and today E! is reporting who they hear might replace her and possibly also Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. The first name they mentioned was season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert. He’s the only contestant to have a #1 album since season 5 winner Carrie Underwood, but is that a reason to hire him for the job? Personally I can’t stand him and I think he would be bitchy just to be bitchy. Seriously when I read he was the only name mentioned, I was so happy I gave up the show last year. I know I am supposed to support my Bronx brethren, but I just couldn’t do it. Sorry Steven, I still have Riverdale pride for you in every other way.
Now as upset I was to only see his name being consider another E! reporter threw out some more names. Watch with Kristin added a few more singers to hat, she said that the Fox big wigs are also considering Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Fergie, Katy Perry and will.i.am for the job. If you remember back when Simon Cowell, Kara Dioguardi and Ellen DeGeneres left the show, there were so many names mentioned you never knew was going to be the new judges on the singing competition. Well I think it is going to be the same here.
Now when it comes to The X Factor Mark Malkin, he has a few names on how might host the fall singing competition. The list includes George Clooney’s flavor of the year Stacy Keibler, Khloé Kardashian Odom, Kelly Osbourne, Mario Lopez, BET’s 106 & Park host Terrence J, Erin Andrews, who just left ESPN for Fox Sports and Dancing with the Stars and The Choice loser Mike Catherwood. So what do I think of that group of people? I think I am so happy I didn’t watch that show because they are annoying people who, for the most part, I didn’t like on DWTS and I wouldn’t like as hosts for the show.
I guess Fox is going for the younger names, but does that mean they are qualified. For the most part, I don’t think they are.

Is Simon Cowell going through some tough economic times?
June 28th, 2012 under American Idol 9+, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

Ever since Simon Cowell left American Idol to do The X Factor things don’t seem to be as good for him and his shows. Plus the rumor is that he paid Britney Spears a lot of money to be on the Fox singing competition show. Up until now I never thought he would be hurting financially because he made a lot of money off his in front of and behind the camera work. But then today he Tweeted a picture of him riding a scooter and I have to wonder if the man that loves to drive very expensive cars is finally feeling what the rest of us are going through with this crappy economy? Nope he said this with the picture from the Providence auditions, “No car showed up for me today….” While I did get some satisfaction that he had to find his own way to get to work, I enjoyed my theory more.

American Idol eliminates one of the contetsants without our votes?
March 14th, 2012 under American Idol 9+. [ Comments: none ]

American Idol is losing a contestant tonight and we are not the ones voting him off. TMZ is reporting that Jermaine Jones will be disqualified from the singing competition tonight on Fox because he hid a secret from the producers and it is a big one. TMZ says they are kicking him off of the show because he was arrested not once, but twice last year and he also has outstanding warrants against him and never told them.
This is not the first time that a contestant has been let go from the show for not disclosing a criminal past. The same was the case for Corey Clark during season two. That same season it came out that Trenyce also had a criminal record, but she divulged that information to the producers and was able to stay on the show.
So the moral of the story for future contestants on the show who have an arresting past, tell the producers otherwise be prepared to go to AI Jail with no get of jail free card.

UPDATE: Jermaine Jones confirmed the news on Twitter, “Awww I will no longer b on the show,” before deleting the account. No word from Fox how they will resolve the dismissal.

Tom Jones dogs Simon Cowell
March 12th, 2012 under American Idol 9+, Simon Cowell, Tom Jones. [ Comments: none ]

Tom Jones is joining The Voice over in The UK and he only had one request before he agreed to do the show. He believes that in order to be sitting up there finding the next singing sensation that he his co-mentors should all be singers who have worked professionally as one. According to the Press Association he said, “I watched other talent shows and I thought: Now hang on a minute. How can this person, not mentioning any names, but how can he or she give singers advice if they’ve never gone through it themselves?” He added, “I think you have to have stood up on that stage and gone for auditions, and be able to take the: You were great but no thank you. You have to be able to take that. And you have to have experienced that to be able to do it.”
Although he is not naming names, It’s Not Unusual to assume he is talking about Simon Cowell. But I guess he will be saying What’s New Pussycat when he finds out the King of Mean sang a song in the late ’80s called Ruff Mixx dressed up as a dog when he was younger. So I guess you can say he is qualified to do it, now when it comes to LA Reid that is another story.

Steven Tyler makes fun of J-Lo got a nipple
February 29th, 2012 under American Idol 9+. [ Comments: none ]

So remember on Sunday all that controversy that Jennifer Lopez might have had a nip slip at the Oscars? Well yesterday during American Idol Steven Tyler decided to make fun of her about it. Gotta say I fell in love with the Aerosmith singer a little bit more for doing that. It was such a perfect jabbed at her.
