American Idol goes to the movies and DWTS went to jail
April 14th, 2009 under American Idol 8, Dancing with the Stars. [ Comments: 1 ]

Lil’ Kim stole Gilles Marini’s top spot by killing the Jive last night and was forced to go to back to jail, Jailhouse Rock that is, in order to take top spot on the leaderboard on Dancing with the Stars!!! This was the first week that Gilles Marini was not the top score getter by the Judges, and I have to say it is about time. While he is a good dancer there is something about him that I just don’t connect with. Hopefully this score will humble him and his annoying partner. Steve-O was once again on the bottom, which hopefully means he is not out for the count because I have so fallen for the Jackass. Something I never I thought I would say before the show started! Now back to Lil’ Kim you got love her for dancing to a song with Jail in the title considering her past! And boy did she nail it! I think the competition is finally hers to win! Who do you think will win? Who do you think will go home?
Talking about songs from movies…tonight on American Idol the remaining 7 will sing songs from the movies under the guidance of Quentin Tarantino. When it comes to song choice, I think Lil (short for Lily) Rounds will probably do a song from Bodyguard. That red head rocker chick will prob do something from The Rose. Adam Lambert will prob do a song from one of the movies converted from Broadway because I think that is what he really wants and should do. Not sure what Kris Allen will do, but it will be nice. Danny Gokey will prob do Don’t Worry, Be Happy because all his songs sound like that! What do you want to hear them sing?

UPDATE: If you are like me, you are probably wondering why the hell Quentin Tarantino is actually doing American Idol? Well his BFF and one of the actors from Inglourious Basterds, Eli Roth told MTV.com what a fanatic QT is over the show.

AI8’s Top 7 go to the movies with Quentin Tarantino
April 9th, 2009 under American Idol 8, Quentin Tarantino. [ Comments: none ]

The remaining 7 singers on American Idol 8 have a new theme and it is a killer one! They will be doing Idol at the Movies for Tuesday’s show and they will learn those songs under the guidance of Quentin Tarantino. I seriously forgot how good he was on the show when he was a Judge back during season 3. Can’t he put Kara DioGuardi in one of his moves and kill her off and replace her on the show?
Talking about Tarantino’s movie, he better show some new scenes from Inglourious Basterds on the show because one teaser trailer two months ago is not enough at this point! We need more more more! Inglourious Basterds and American Idol go together like…well…they don’t but still.
Now back to American Idol, I am going to miss Scott MacIntyre who was part of the only noteworthy moments of season 8…when Ryan Seacrest tried to high five him.

I will be in the minority, but I HATED Adam Lambert’s Mad World
April 7th, 2009 under American Idol 8, Tears For Fears. [ Comments: 6 ]

Tears for Fears’ Mad World is one of all my all time favorite songs hands down, so when I read that Adam Lambert was going to do it (I am on the West Coast, so I cheat and read online reviews) and Simon gave him a standing O, I thought he was going nail it and I was excited for it. Well I am sorry, but I f*cking hated it. He had the opportunity to make it haunting especially since he did the Gary Jules version of it. While his high voice might be good for the stage and carry through the audience, but listening to it on TV it grated on me. If he would have done it in deeper voice and let the chorus stand a little more on its own, I think I would have liked it a whole better. But man I don’t care, it is my favorite song and I personally didn’t like what he did it with it. I just think when people have favorite songs, they don’t like when anyone else does anything to it and that is how I feel about Mad World. I will be honest it took me a long time to get used to and like Gary Jules version of it and when it comes to Adam I really don’t think I will ever like it.
And I know several of you will disagree with me and bash me, but that is where I stand on his version of the song. Here is the Tears for Fears version of it, that I know you are going to say Adam’s was much better…but I disagree.

American Idol 8’s Top 8 perform tonight

Tonight on Fox’s American Idol 8 at 8p the Top 8 perform songs from the year they were born. I am going to feel really old when the 16 year old rocker chick sings something from Pearl Jam or Nirvana. BTW that is a lot 8s for the show tonight. I almost feel like the Octomom should be in the audience or something.

BTWF roles: AI8’s Adam Lambert in The Ten Commandments!
March 31st, 2009 under American Idol 8, Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: 1 ]

Before Adam Lambert was a contestant on American Idol 8 performing at the Kodak Theatre for Hollywood week, he was on the very same stage in 2004 with Val Kilmer playing Joshua in The Ten Commandments! What an amazing performer the 21 year old American Idol hopeful was back in 2004. Is it wrong for me to say I would rather see him back on Broadway as compared to winning American Idol?
Don’t forget to watch him tonight on Fox’s American Idol at 8p!
