Sadly, Tom Bergeron decided to leave America’s Funniest Video after hosting the show for 15 seasons and for season 26 ABC needs a new host. The person filling Bergeron’s big shoes is Alfonso Ribeiro.
Now you might not think of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star as a host, but he has done it in the past. He hosted Catch 21 on Game Show Network, ABC Family’s Spell-Mageddon and Food Network’s Unwrapped 2.0, so he will be fine. In fact, I think the father of 2 is the perfect choice for the job. I know when I heard the news, I did the Carlton Dance. Thankfully, no was here to film it or he would be tossing it to on AFV in the fall!

All weekend long people have wondered if the injured Alfonso Ribeiro would be able to dance on Dancing with the Stars tonight, and Carlton danced through the pain not once but twice. Not only did he do the routines, but he did them flawlessly. So if you didn’t know that he hurt his back, you wouldn’t be to tell when he was on the dance floor.
My hat is way off for him because he could’ve said I am injured and called it a day, but he didn’t. I am so proud of him and I really hope he wins the mirror ball trophy because he deserves it. Not only for tonight, but for the season as a whole.
Plus, Jimmy Kimmel will kill him if he doesn’t win, since he bet on him to take it all home. Those that the ABC late night host bet on who haven’t won in the past, were hospitalized with undisclosed accidents right after the show.
Back to Alfonso, I admit I am completely biased when it comes to him because we are from the same hometown (that he mentioned on the show tonight). But I think my bias towards him is warranted, don’t you agree!
Yesterday on Mucho, Guillermo got an exclusive with Alfonso Ribeiro. Carlton took a break from dancing with his partner to pee in a urinal, and Mucho was there to capture it all.
It’s amazing what Jimmy Kimmel got the Tap Dance Kid to do, just because the ABC late night host predicted him to take him the mirror ball trophy on Dancing with the Stars. I predicted the same thing, but that’s only because we went to same JHS and I support my alumni. So now I wonder what I can get the Fresh Prince star to do for me?
Todd Bridges and Alfonso Ribeiro met up on the set of Access Hollywood, and who else besides me is thinking how cool it would be if Willis and Carlton got a sitcom together. Willis is kind of like Will and Carlton is a bit like Arnold, so it could work. I mean wouldn’t you watch Fresh Prince of Diff’rent Strokes? Don’t be like, Wahtcha talkin’ bout, Seriously? You would be just as addicted as I would be to it.
